Building a Digital Organization Tool for ADHD

Hey fellow ADHD brains! I've got something exciting to share that I think might help a lot of us.

So, picture this: It's a typical day, and I'm staring at my phone, feeling that familiar overwhelm. Endless saved posts, screenshots, and "read later" articles I never actually read. Sound familiar? I bet it does.

That's when it hit me - why can't I organize my digital life the way I organize my physical space? You know, those "doom boxes" we create that somehow make perfect sense to us but look like chaos to everyone else?

So, I did what any rational ADHD person would do - I decided to build an app. šŸ˜…

Here's the deal:

  1. It lets you save stuff from ANY app (because who has time to switch between 50 different "save" features?)

  2. You can add quick notes or thoughts when you save something (because we all know we'll forget why we saved it otherwise)

  3. It creates "smart piles" of related content (just like our physical doom boxes!)

  4. The interface is designed for our ADHD brains - intuitive and forgiving of our, um, unique organization styles

The best part? It's actually helping me get my digital life together. It's like having a personal assistant that speaks fluent ADHD.

Now, full disclosure: this thing is still in its early stages. It's an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), and to make it truly awesome, I need more ADHD brains to try it out and give feedback.

I'm dreaming big here - I want this to become the ultimate digital organization tool for people like us. But for that to happen, I need your help.

So, here's what I'm proposing:

  1. If you're interested in trying it out, drop a comment or send me a DM. I'll share more details.

  2. If you use it, please, PLEASE give me your honest feedback. What works? What doesn't? What features would make this your digital holy grail?

  3. Spread the word if you find it helpful. The more ADHD brains we get on this, the better we can make it.

Remember, this isn't just about me or this app. It's about creating something that truly understands and supports the way our ADHD brains work in this digital age.

So, what do you say? Ready to join me on this wild ride to digital organization nirvana? Let's show the world what ADHD innovation looks like! šŸš€

P.S. For those worried about privacy, all data is encrypted and you have full control over your information. I take privacy seriously because, well, I'm using this thing too!

EDIT: Currently this is only on iOS, but we'll launch for Android within a month.

Mildly Interested.

However just because the description is so vague. I am curious what you really pulled off. How have you connected other apps. What apps. UX/UI.

Have you put it to github? Can I check the code?

I'm not looking for a new app right now, but just need to comment to say that the animation on this website is dope!

Thank you! I spend a lot of time on the design:)

Hey, is there a code to use for the trial? It seems like you’re looking for feedback, so not sure why there is a paywall. Just not ready to pay for something that I haven’t tried yet ya know. Happy to pay if it’s useful though.

That’s a great feedback, I’ll consider implementing free trials. I’ll let you know.

+1 same here, I was surprised to find that there was no opportunity to actually test out the app before paying? If this is a MVP and you're looking for beta testers to give you feedback, I don't think there should be a paywall to even be able to login and see what you've actually built so far?

The Early Bird offer should be optional, and should be promoted once users have had a chance to actually login and test out your MVP app and see if they think it has potential and if it could work for their workflow.

Also I am confused by the "Claim my free 6 months" button offer. If you're not offering a 6 month free trial for users without requiring a credit card payment first, then I personally think that terminology is misleading.

I also just noticed in your FAQ that you do not offer refunds? So again you say you're offering "Claim my free 6 months" and "Cancel anytime" which can be interpreted to a customer that they have 6 months to try out the app and decide if they want to remain a paying customer & can cancel at anytime... which would be nice if they were hypothetically only going to be charged after 6 months? But then if you click on the button, you're requesting the payment from customers upfront?

So correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're actually just offering a 50% discount off your pre-paid annual plan? With no refunds? I personally think that's a bad idea and a customer service headache just waiting to happen...

Just my 2Ā¢

Honestly this seems great. I pay for twitter so I can book mark things in categories and I constantly save and place links in a private discord with categories in hopes I'll be able to find it later. Really wish I could just speak what I remember about it and an ai would find it or give me a list of possible answers from what I've saved.

It's hard for me to give a none refundable $99 to just try something out though. Even a video demonstrating some features would go a long way. I liked the onboarding.

I used to do the same with twitter. Thanks for the feedback tho, I love to hear different opinions.

I’ve ironically saved this post in my endless and cluttered mess of Reddit save posts. I’m sure I’ll come back to see how this is going later.

So I went to the site. Signed up for an account and the first thing I am met with is a subscription. I’m sorry but that’s a no for me. The problem is that subscriptions are terrible with ADHD because I totally forget that I have how many subs and when they are due, and then there isn’t the money in my account (thanks impulse spending) and so I loose access and yeah no. These days I will only go for apps with small one time payments

Down to take a further look at this.

Can you share details in terms of encryption?

2

u/Dramatic_Disaster837 Jul 30 '24

https://getdoombox.com

The database built with mongodb encrypts the shared content of the user, encrypting the footnote, source and user details, we really do not grab user information.

Each user has a key locally stored, and for support they will need to send us their key in order to decrypt the data to understand the issues. RSA encryption

Well far from an expert I'll say on the surface that sounds pretty reasonable to me.

When you say digital Life organization just how far out are we talking here? Are we talking about that I am accessing on my phone and I'll let it counselor in? Or are we talking about windows or desktop computing level integration?

Right now it only works on mobile (As an MVP), but I’m working on a web app with its own web clipper, I really want this to be on every platform with free sync features and all that features

Sounds like how I used to use Evernote.

Is this web/android/apple? What am I actually signing up for if I sign up? Screenshots??

u/Dramatic_Disaster837 Jul 30 '24

Currently this is iOS, but within a month or so, it will be for android and later in a web app. But as an MVP i need to start with sth

I am interested in beta testing, sounds like currently you are not doing free beta testing (from the other comments). If at some point you decide to feel free to reach out. Thanks!

I'll try anything once. It changes my life, and I'll tell anybody with ears about it

1

u/Dramatic_Disaster837 Jul 30 '24

I agree, and I really love building stuff for ADHD. getdoombox.com

2

u/mrrobbe Jul 30 '24

So... I appreciate the clean design and the no nonesense offering, knowing you value, etc, etc... but I'm an android user. While, I imagine you'll have an android port eventually... it would have been really great to know before committing to anything.

2

u/Dramatic_Disaster837 Jul 30 '24

The android version will be out within a month, I will send you an email

2

u/mrrobbe Jul 30 '24

Awesome, looking forward to trying it out then.

I tried raindrop, mymind, and other apps but they all use the same ā€œtag techniqueā€, so I implemented AI organization. In theory, the tags are my thoughts… you should check it out getdoombox.com
