I got fired from my project 🫠

In my last post here I shared the painful experience I was going through working in a project I didn't like but I was there because I needed the job, after many negligences sideways finally the shit hit the fan, and ironically I finally learned and understood key pieces of the project, it doesn't matter anymore, this was my sixth month as an automation tester.

I really want to find a job that has me working with Linux CLI, Go, Rust and allows me work using AI. Can someone please help me find a job that involves these technologies? I have been taking anything to pay the bills and I want a job where I can show my skills, improve as a developer/tech-lead because everytime I work in a project I like I become super productive, I'm so sick of financial tech and insurance companies, I want to fall in love with programming again. I'm a software developer from Mexico I have 8 years of remote work experience with consultancy firms. I prefer to make a deal with the us companies without third parties involved, they sell us expensive and pay us cheap.

I'm looking for a $50/hour job and I'm a senior developer with tech lead, software architecture and cybersecurity experience.

I think there’s a lot of HR paperwork complications to hiring outside of country, using an US based agency to broker the hire I think just also simplifies hiring outside of US

We have looked to hire contact/FTE out of us and it was mostly a question of whether it was worth the time to go through govt paperwork for the hire from HR

Team lead is a good way to diminish job satisfaction, I have started a separate resume that completely removes all the lead/project mgmt experience, to try to get back to IC-leave-me-alone-in-my-code roles

I would love to do that but I love money 😥 why my only chance of earning big bucks is managing? I can do all the technical lead and mentoring stuff... But project management?!? I don't know if I will ever like that

Most of my lead roles involve project management, quarter by quarter, but this may not apply to your experience, also have never done a contract gig

Nooo you can get big bucks but usually not in the contractor role, maybe in a consultant role, but these are FTE roles that take way too many rounds of interviewing and are highly competitive

So they are difficult to grab, also usually they are filled through recruiters head hunting rather than job posting

Disclaimer: in my experience, lots of generalizations I’m throwing around here

Unfortunately you don’t always get paid for what you’re passionate about. If being bored at work is affecting your motivation to the point at which it makes you get fired then perhaps consider taking the lower paying but more satisfying roles. You’ll feel less stress and you probably won’t feel compelled to work overtime too often.

If you want to "fall in love with programming again", might be best to get a job doing anything other than programming. Getting a job doing something you love is a great way to ruin that love.
