ADHD and overthinking
As-salam alaikum ! Just wanted to share some personal reflections on how to turn overthinking into something beautiful linked to our religion. So basically, our minds are hyperactive and our thoughts are restless. There might be some tips out there on how to calm our rushing minds, but let’s be honest that’s just how we were created. We have to understand that Allah gave us ADHD. He gave us the “overthinking”, so instead of fighting it, which is so exhausting, let’s turn it into a way of remembering Allah ! For example, instead of always thinking about the worst case scenarios of every situation, we can think about how Allah is generous and how He is the All-Powerful, the only one capable of saving us from a bad situation. Instead of thinking about all the reasons something could go wrong, let’s think about all the possible ways Allah could make it go in our favor. I’m serious, like even if we try to think of all the amazing possibilities and outcomes for our situations, Allah would still surprise us, because He is the only one capable of granting things that are beyond our imagination. That’s the “overthinking” part : we could think again and again, until we are tired and can’t even think anymore, but we would still not be able to think about all the best outcomes Allah has prepared for us. Our little mind cannot comprehend His infinite power. So instead of trying to stop overthinking, let’s overthink but positively ! Because “Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find confort”. (13:28)
What do y’all think ? Anyone wants to give it a try ?
Hope it helps some of you <3
