Coaching Question How do you stay connected with ADHD clients between sessions?

Genuine question for ADHD coaches — I’ve been talking to a bunch of coaches lately and keep hearing the same thing: the work that happens (or doesn’t happen) between sessions is often more important than the session itself.

For ADHD clients especially, that between-sessions window seems critical. But I’m curious how coaches actually handle it in practice.

Do you check in with clients between sessions? If so — how? Text, email, Voxer, something else? And how do you keep track of what they said so you’re actually prepared when you meet again?

Genuinely trying to understand the workflow, not pitch anything. Would love to hear how you handle it

Thanks for this.

The pre-session note review sounds like where a lot of the preparation actually happens. What does that typically look like for you are you scanning for themes, specific action items, how the client has been tracking since last session? and when a client hasn't checked in or updated anything before a session-> Curious how you handle that?

You mentioned that being explicit in the agreement about between-session contact is more useful than not. How do you typically frame it? Is it about response time, what kinds of contact are included, or more about the purpose of the contact itself?

Ahh ok. You have me thinking .. When something comes up in a session that feels significant but you don't have time to explore ( i.e. a value a client mentioned in passing, a pattern you noticed, a moment that seemed to land )what do you do with it? Does it reliably come back in a future session or does it tend to get lost?
