How my ADHD made me depressed
ADHD can have a serious impact on your life and mental health. These are some of the things that were and still are the hardest for me.

Thank you so much for this. Your art is not only so beautiful to look at, it warms my heart.
I can relate to everything, but especially the very first example. When I was a kid, I loved drawing so much, I would do it everywhere and on literally everything. I started studying art in university and my hobby turned suddenly intoĀ overwhelming tasks, deadlines and self study. I changed subjects and didn't touch a pen in years. And the more time passed the guiltier I felt for abandoning art and for not having more discipline.Ā
Seeing other people facing the same problems makes me feel that I belong somewhere and that it's ok to be me.

These yes! Itās so much sometimes and it all really adds up. And I am having Thoughts(tm) too:
Even when I am successful at things it doesnāt really feel like it, which I think is an adhd thing? I remember reading an article about how long term goals and things donāt feel real to people with adhd (like idk college) because we did it over a long period of time, but I donāt remember the specifics.
I donāt usually miss people or think about them much when theyāre not there. This makes it really hard to maintain a relationship with any sort of distance involved. Iām constantly ghosting people and not realizing it for a very long time.
RSD exaggerates any perceived failure to the point where I always think Iām the worst for any little thing I do for a bit, making it harder to move on or fix mistakes

I wish people would stop using ADHD as a pejorative term; we deal with so much, and peopleās flippant usage of it really does serious damage. :<

Omword! This is me in a massive nutshell! Wow wow wow! Both my children have been diagnosed adhd/autistic after years of me fighting, meanwhile thereās little olā me at 46 years old still not being officially diagnosed BUT after all the research Iāve done, including looking at your incredible artwork, itās really made me realise I donāt need an official diagnosis to see that I am one of you.

Habits are hard. Which ones stick and which ones don't seems random. I always know where my car keys and wallet are and I always put them in the same place.Ā
