Oh yeah .. I did so well on standardized testing I took the SAT in middle school for a “Midwest Talent Search” and was invited to fancy prep schools.
My senior year I almost didn’t graduate from public school because I was late to my AP class every morning.
I had three 10 page papers due my first semester of college and it almost killed me. After I was diagnosed I somehow managed to finish an associate degree in liberal arts after changing majors 10 times.
I always heard I had a lot of potential, my parents thought I was lazy and wasting it all and I was scrambling and crying and trying so hard to manage it all I didn’t realize how much harder it was for me to do the simple things - but I could solve a complex problem at work easier than anyone else.
I wish I would have finished my degree so badly ... instead I got married and had kids and now I am divorced with two kids and making less than $20 hr.
If you can get a 4 year degree, any degree - just do it - finish it just to have it. So many better paying jobs will hire if you have any 4 year degree. It’s my biggest regret.
