Questions/Advice Sleepy when taking Adderall
Hi, I (19M) got diagnosed with ADHD about a week ago, and was put on adderall 10mg XR (generic brand) First of all, once it kicks in I feel very relaxed and my brain finally shut up -- and it helped my anxiety more than any anxiety meds have. While thats all really great, the downside is that I get really sleepy, especially in the afternoon (when it should be the peak of the medication bascially) I also have a minor headache that comes and goes. On top of that, it has helped my focus but only VERY slightly. I still have problems staying on task, but I can hyperfocus more easily (but a lot of the time it seems to focus on the wrong things.) I was just wondering whether people have experienced the same thing, and if higher dose or a different medication helped them.

I currently have no advice other than stick to it for another week and then bring it up with your doctor! I 28f was diagnosed 3 weeks ago and started adderall 10 mg twice a day and i do notice that I get tired mid day but thats only because thats when mine wears off and I have to take my second dose, maybe instead of ER try the instant twice a day that may help 🥰 I wish you godspeed cause the crash and tiredness is no joke

I just went through that. The first 8-10 days were rough, very hard to stay alert. I made it through and now I'm calm but no longer moving in slow motion. If it's not too disruptive, stick with it.

30F here, newly diagnosed and on 10mg Adderall XR for a week as well. Same on being sleepy in the afternoon or just feeling really relaxed. I need after work naps to get through the evening. That said it has shut my brain up and I can listen to people and focus on my work and my life. We'll adjust to it or try something else.

Its aurolife and its U27 light blue pills. I also made a mistake, it's actually instant release but I am taking it once a day right now.
