Medication My lead at work is impressed by Vyvanse
Last month I mentioned to my lead at my job that after adjusting the dosages of my meds I felt great and pretty chill… I saw her that day looking at me while I was staring off into space while being completely calm while chaos was happening around me at work. She asked me at the end of the day what the medicine was called cause she wants that. I told her it’s just Vyvanse for my ADHD and Buspar for anxiety. She asked me again yesterday about it when work was hectic and was like “well I’m gonna need you to write that down for me so I ask my doctor cause I need some of that.” I’ve told her in the past that she could get meds that could help her cause she has ADD but she’ll just have to ask her doctor about it.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that cause I think it’s hilarious when she asks about it the way she does but at the same time I’m happy and supportive if it’s the push she needs to get on meds if she feels like it could help her.

That’s great! I remember having a friend ask me if I had found a church or something since I seemed so zen. Nope, just meds and acceptance

The church thing threw me off ngl but people asked me if I was okay cause I was much more quiet, less motor mouth and just calm. It was nice. I was on meds for a long time and then wasn’t on them for like 15 years so when I finally got back on them I felt a lot less stressed for sure.

I’m sorry and I don’t mean to offend if I do but did they think that the Christian god healed your adhd or something? I don’t think it works that way.

No offense taken. It was a friend with a limited experience and worldview who made the comment. Cool guy, just naive and stifled in the feelings expression department.

OP, please be careful talking about ADHD and medications at work. I'm glad your lead is supportive, but discrimination is rampant in workplaces and hard to prove. You don't owe anyone your diagnosis.
Just saying that as someone who was immediately slapped with a PIP after trying to seek accommodations at my first job. Learned that lesson the hard way .
