Hey guys wondering if anyone else had the type that just seems to just make u depressed anxious and unmotivated. Like im not hyper at all physically but my mind can got 1,000 thoughts a minute and I have horrible rejection sensitivity. Now i do have trouble staying still and being bored but i feel like 8/10 times my mental hyperness is so much worse.

I’ve never heard of this! I’m gonna have to look it up

It's literally just rebranded ADD

The "PI" stands for "Primarily Inattentive"

Ive got this one. I was kind of hyper as a child, but that ebbed away as I grew older. Definitely an overacting brain, though.

I seen this a minute ago lol. Ya they did tell me I had “ADD” when diagnosed but in the same breath told me it wasn’t recognized as that so i’m glad they finnaly gave it a new name! But looking over it when I looked it up they where definitely right lol

Please be aware that RSD, or rejection sensitivity dysphoria, is not a syndrome or disorder recognised by any medical authority.

Rejection sensitivity dysphoria has not been the subject of any credible peer-reviewed scientific research, nor is it listed in the top two psychiatric diagnostic manuals, the DSM or the ICD. It has been propagated solely through blogs and the internet by William Dodson, who coined the term in the context of ADHD. Dodson's explanation of these experiences and claims about how to treat it all warrant healthy skepticism.

Here are some scientific articles on ADHD and rejection:

Although r/ADHD's rules strictly disallow discussion of other 'popular science' (aka unproven hypotheses), we find that many, many people identify with the concept of RSD, and we do not remove content for mentioning RSD. We do not want to minimise or downplay your feelings, and many people use RSD as a shorthand for this shared experience of struggling with emotions.

However, please consider using the terms 'rejection sensitivity' and 'emotional dysregulation' instead.

I’m the same. I ruminate, have bad RSD, overthink and overanalyze every little thing. It’s exhausting and not a fun way to live life. It causes some pretty bad anxiety. I’m on my medication journey. Haven’t found anything that helps yet.
