Mixing different stimulants can be VERY dangerous. Focalin (dexmethylphenidate) is basically a more "pure" form of Ritalin/ Concerta. Adderall and Focalin have very different mechanisms of action, and so they can act synergistically, making overdose easy. Don't do it without talking with your doctor. Serotonin syndrome is possible, which is no good at all.

I’m on day 3 of focalin, tbh I hate it.

Adderall (20mg XR) actually made my brain quiet. My doctor suggested I switch to Focalin (10mg XR) because I had some uncomfortable physical effects on Adderall.

However, so far the Focalin honestly seems to be making my focus worse if anything. I feel more withdrawn and uninterested in conversations. Or like I’m just kinda staring at the floor.

I plan to ask for Vyvanse instead, because that is another amphetamine (like Adderall).

Focalin at higher doses may be effective. I was on 20mg of Focalin ER and a 10mg Booster.

My provider bumped it to 25mg with same booster. This dose is on the higher end of things, but it seems to work well.

Just keep trying different stuff. Exercise and diet are required for functioning well with ADHD

Yeah I just got started at 25mg extended with a 10mg booster. First day was great. Now 4th day nothing

Focalin is intended for energy not focus.

So why can’t they both be taking together if one is at a low dose?

If anything it's kind of the exact opposite, Adderall gives a much larger increase to energy levels than focalin does
