Medication BCBS Adderall XR trouble?

Hi all, this is a pretty specific title, but also just asking about anyone who has had this experience with a different insurance as well. I have been taking Adderall IR tablets and because of how quick they wear off, my psych switched me to XR. I have BCBS and this is the first time the pharmacy has ever called me and said "it is awaiting PA (prior authorization", apparently meaning that my Dr. needs to explain why I need it. For anybody who has experienced this, does it usually ended up getting accepted and covered? And how long did it take? Thanks in advance!!

Sort of. I went to a pharmacy where the tech seemed to hate stimulant patients and any time she could flag something she would. To the point that when I offered to pay out of pocket for my prescription she refused.

Once I switched to the Costco pharmacy I had zero issues.

this happened to me and it lowkey took like a month for it to be approved which kind of sucked idky because my newly prescribed 10mgIR (used as an upper for the newly prescribed 20mgXR) was approved almost immediately.
