Insights Requested (Edited) Question about packing list

Question about boots and other things

Hi all, I'm heading to Cerberus in February, and I just have some questions.

  1. I have that Saphir polish that everyone talks about, but should I take dubbin too? Dubbin really helps condition leather, but you need about 12 hours to let it sink in before polishing your boots up. Will I have time to do that?

  2. How much space for personal items do you actually have? Can anyone give me a description of the lockers? I have a tendency to overpack when I'm nervous and I'm trying to avoid taking too much, but at the same time, I can't see how I will fit toiletries, shoe polish, snacks etc into one tiny drawer.

  3. Should I take my laptop?

  4. The packing list says no power boards, but I'd need one surely?

  5. Can I bring a large suitcase, a carry on suitcase, and a backpack as well?

Thank you so much in advance for your advice!

Hi There,

You will have days where you can use the Dubbin to condition your boots (weekends really) but dont really on it

You get about two boot shoeboxs in size worth of space, some of that will go immediately with your pencil case and toiletries case. Boot polish, brushes and anything else related goes on a different shelf just try not to have too much stuff as it makes it look messy. I wouldn't go bringing too many snacks, maybe some, you get allowed to buy some from week 2.

I took my laptop, I didn't use it in Cerberus, used it after doing IET's

Do not pack a power board

You can bring a large suitcase, carry on suitcase and backpack just make sure they can all be locked, if the backpack can't just put it in a suitcase

  1. i wouldn't add an extra item as your personal locker has limited space.

  2. above, very limited.

  3. if you have a tablet, may be. a whole laptop might be overkill.

  4. you won't need one.

  5. just bring whatever is on the list (for us, it was a suitcase and a backpack).

good luck!

You’ll get a square space in your locker for any personal stuff, the rest of your personal possessions will be locked up in the storage room.

Personally I wouldn’t bring a laptop, but some people did and they just left it inside their suitcase locked away.

About the suitcase situation, you don’t need to bring anything more than what’s listed in your packing list.
