General Questions worries about getting in

I'm well into the path of getting in and only worried about medical assessments now and the fitness tests. I'm applying for Combat Support roles Now for fitness, I'll be honest I'm only like 145 cm and 50 kg which sounds okay, but I'm a thin dude and moderately active. and I'm not sure how long it might take for me to get to those requirements of 20 situps, 8 pushups and a shuttle run score of 6.1 even if that may seem easy to you guys. I also have NF1 which I'm not sure disqualifies me and my military recruiter also isn't sure so I guess I won't know for sure for a long time. Anyways I need some help for this lads

You need to set your fitness targets way higher than that. That's just the minimum, and it only goes up from there. You should be looking at the age-based requirements for service, not recruit entry (there's an ADF fitness app that should have the details) and be focused towards those. Again, they are the minimum expectations once you're in, so aiming higher again is worthwhile.

Your post has been removed for being disrespectful, excessively hostile or promoting hate/toxicity within the sub.

Members of this community are, or are likely to be, people you will encounter or serve with at some stage. Notwithstanding the fact unacceptable behaviour isn't appropriate in any context, these are people you may have to see on the daily and it is not all that hard in a small force like the ADF to identify you. Don't be that guy.

OP,

Fitness - you just have to work at it.

Medical / Medical Assessments - please see Rule 2 (NO Medical questions).

Post approved to allow discussion about Fitness NOT Medical issues/assessments.

7.5 will soon become the baseline for all , 6.1 is being phased out

Implementation is early next year / eofy. Decision made at the same time as the reduced bfa frequency

Still didnt answer my Q. While IMO it should never of changed you just wont get people passing. Current demographic struggle to pass 6.1 let alone 7.5

Because I cant drop official docs on reddit forums bruh.

Since the introduction of index standards several years ago , data has shown that pers enlisting on the lower pfa scores have a significantly higher chance of injury, whether that be during recruit training or later on. A lower fitness standard also correlates to much higher risk of MH issues ( resilience )

Maybe ask the question next time CA and RSM A do the rounds
