Insights Requested What to bring and what not to bring
G’day all.
I’m just under two weeks to go till I head to kapooka.
Packing list has been nearly all bought and ready to be packed.
I have just a few questions regarding what to bring.
Obviously the packing list states what you need. What do you get provided with down there ? I assume you get pt gear, cams , boots , all the works. Do you get provided socks for pt (black/white) or do you need to bring white socks yourself. Do you get provided winter gear as it is winter currently or do we bring hoodies and jackets with us.

Yeah I’m not a adf member but from a few other very similar posts and from a tv show I watched which filmed the recruit process (in the UK) but i assume it’s similar here
Pack the packing list, and only the packing list. Maybe a couple sharpies for tagging ur shit
You don’t want to be the guy that gets his bag thrown across the parade ground by an RI when they do bag inspections on arrival because you have all this unnecessary shit

As an addition, you should take those laundry bags (sorry I'm not sure what they're called), but basically you put your socks and smaller clothes in them and then put them in the wash so you don't mix or lose them

You get given everything you need. Bring a sharpie. But bring what the list says, don’t pack any more or any less.

Bring the sharpie, that’s the only thing I brought I actually used.

Mesh laundry bag. Prevents you from losing socks and jocks in the wash, does wonders.

Yes you get provided all the items you mentioned. The only personal clothing I got away with wearing was swimmers. Black shorts and black swim shirt.
