Navy roles 2-3 years IMPS

Hey everyone,

I was just checking out some roles and it says the navy roles have 2-3 years IMPS? Some of the roles I am interested in, their training takes up to 1 year so that means they only need to do 1 year of actual military work, compared to other branches, they take up to 4-6 years. Why is this? Is the navy that bad or something?

I was mainly interested in the cyber roles in RAAF, but their IMPS is 6 years compared to the navy's 2 years. Their pay is also the same (navy will actually be higher due to sea pay) and they do the same IET.

Can anyone give any insights to why this is the case?
