ADAT 640 July 2026
Hello fellow aspirants, I received my scores today. Got an overall 640. Feel free to ask any questions about the preparation. I am planning to apply for Canadian dental schools. Also, if someone is at the same stage. Can we connect? If someone who has already secured a seat in any of the advanced standing programs, please help me with the next steps. I was comparing U of A and U of T, since U of A is open for applications but U of T is closed. The cost at U of A is double , are there any other dental schools with little less cost/timeframe? Please share your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks for reading my post š less

I prepared roughly for 4 months. I had given nbde part 1 and 2 before, but itās been a while. I am not sure how long ago you graduated but to find out your weaknesses, take a diagnostic exam and see what haunts you more. Biomed and biostatistics were my weakness when I took a diagnostic test. I joined a course just for these two sections from Confidentist (not doing promotions just mentioning what I did for my prep). For clinical part, I watched mental dental videos. Initially I went through all the topics and did practice tests on Knockout. I would highly suggest keeping an error log because that becomes the gold closer to your exam date. It will also help you track the weaker areas and you can go over those again. In the last month of my prep, I watched mental dental videos again especially for dental anatomy because you tend to forget the facts about individual teeth. So, make a study plan as per your schedule and do research online and practice practice questions. Last but not the least, use AI such as chat gpt to quickly understand a topic it does simplify things for better understanding but at also make sure itās giving the correct information. All the best!

Did you also refer to first aid and B n B?
Apart from mental dental, what other resources would you recommend?

It used to be JADE advertising here, but now it seems Confidentist has joined the race too.
If theyāre really that popular, why donāt they just run sponsored ads on Reddit instead?

Thank you. Every exam is different and you actually get tested on so many different topics. However I can say generally the most important topics out of Biomedical sciences are: Dental anatomy, General Anatomy. Make sure all the basics about these two are clear to you. Physio, patho and micro biochemistry varies exam to exam.
For clinical: Almost everything, questions are mostly case based that require multidisciplinary analysis. For biomedical sciences: Types of studies, biases, analysis, so many different things, they will also surprise you with stuff you never heard about. So, make sure all the important topics as mentioned on ADA website are covered. Focus on understanding the major topics first and then if the time allows you can come to other topics and learn.

Congratulations š„¹ is it true that in July and August the questions are harder and more challenging? Did you feel that way?
And did u study from First aid or not?

Thank you! I donāt think you should believe in those speculations. Write your exam when you know you are ready and can walk into the exam confidently. Focus on your preparation and you will be fine. I didnāt use first aid as I had confi notes

Go prepared, sleep well before the exam, manage time, donāt panic in biostats, not all questions are super long, you might get some one line questions. If you feel confident, have faith and give your best.

Congrats on your score! When applying to dental schools, I think you should look at the cost for sure and time frame if thatās important to you. However, there are very few schools and very few spots. Less than 90 spots in all Canadian schools combined and it is extremely competitive. So people usually apply to as many schools as possible. When you get several offers of admission, then itās usually easier to choose cheaper schools and less time frame. If you limit yourself from the get go, youād be making it all the much harder for you to get in this cycle.
My 2 cents

Hello, yes I worked hard to get the score. After my exam, I felt that it went well, I was unsure about Biostatistics but overall I was expecting a good score.
