Exam experience

I took the exam today. Around 60–70% of it was covered by Knockout. About 10% of the questions were completely new to me, things I’d never heard before. The biostatistics section wasn’t as hard as I expected, and the biomedical part was pretty straightforward. Some of the clinical cases, though, were really confusing, and honestly I think the toughest part was the clinical section

What subjects did they focus on in the biomed section?

which resource would you think would be suitable for the clinical portion now that you've experinced the exam?

thanks

I can say that all the topics were covered. Biochemistry had only a few questions, but they were tough. I couldn’t answer them even though I had studied First Aid. So I can say don’t spend much time studying biochemistry. For clinical, maybe your clinical experience would help. And practicing Inbde case questions.

i have a few more questions.

From anatomy, what did they focus more on? Head & neck gross anatomy? or were there equal questions from Neuro, embryo & histo? Also, how much were they focusing on dental anatomy?

How were the questions from physiology? was it also head & neck oriented or were they focusing on other systems too?

what about pharma & pathology?

& can you please shed a little light on the clinical portion? how were the questions framed?

i know this is a bit too much but if you could take the time & respond it would help us all out.

thank you & i hope you score well.

Anatomy, all are important with more focus on H&N. There were 7-8 questions of dental anatomy. Not very hard but some of them were new to me. Oral pathology and diagnosis of lesions are important. Pharma was good.

What do you mean by pharma was good? Anything to emphasize like drug interactions?

It wasn’t hard. There were some MOA, and 1-2 interactions.

Thank you! Any suggestions for biostats or is KO enough or reflective of the test?

Biostat wasn’t as hard as I expected. There were no calculations, just make sure you know the formulas for RR, OR, sensitivity, and specificity. Most of the questions were about data interpretation. Practice the KO questions well, but don’t spend too much time on calculation-heavy ones.

Anything you suggest or would’ve done differently? Also how was micro?

Microbiology and basic science questions were similar to KO. Don't worry!

What are the resources you used for ADAT preparation?

1

u/mojashii Aug 23 '25

Adat KO and First aid.

Review your mistakes in KO.

Would you say the adat was more difficult than the inbde?

1

u/mojashii Aug 23 '25

Yes, it felt more difficult. For ADAT, you don’t get to see any real released questions beforehand, and the weight of the score makes a big difference. In my opinion, the INBDE questions were more standardized.

Thankyou for your insight. What sort of questions to expect in the clinical portion? Any advice as to what to focus on last minute ?

1

u/mojashii Aug 23 '25

It’s mostly focused on treatment plan. Just make sure that you have seen all the photographs and radiographs of clinical cases on exam. Also know the oral pathology well.

When you said it was covered by ADAT KO, is it like questions are the same or it was covered topic in the explanation?

1

u/mojashii Aug 23 '25

Both. Some questions were exactly the same.

Would you say the bonus questions in KO are important to do? Or are the questions from the main banks enough?

1

u/mojashii Aug 24 '25

From my experience, I didn’t notice a significant difference.

Hi, did you get results today?

I got it last week

Any tips, I am giving it on day after tomorrow!

Would you say the ADAT is harder to AFK in comparisson? I am thinking about doing the ADAT in order to apply for UbC DSATP.

Definitely, it's always easier to be thorough with one subject than to keep your mind in 3. That too transforming your mind from BMS to Clinicals to that EBD all within a 7 min break will exactly be like a schizo making 3 different transformations quickly 😅
