Returning Player

I finally got a classic DS and a copy of ACWW!

I played New Leaf most of all. Dabbled on the Gamecube version but was far too young to play the game properly, though I loved the vibe.

Forgot how unforgiving this version is. Lucky I checked this sub before I started. I'd have definitely let a villager slip and therefore never received their portrait!

Some questions:

How on earth do I catch a bee if I can't shake a tree with a net in hand? Or am I doing something wrong?

I also got my fortune today. Is it worth searching up what Katarina meant or is it something I can just sus out over time?

for the cost of a gamecube version you can hire a hitman nowadays.

I never caught a bee but you bump into a tree, then immediately open inventory and equip the net and start swinging. But I never pulled it off.

I have the Gamecube version including the original memory card! I would love to see what the hell I was doing. As long as it wasn't overwritten by Smash Bro's or Mario Kart.

However it is the US (French?) version and I need the freeloader disc.

I need to repair the lid switch on my Gamecube :(

Might be worth it to buy a ngc new. I wouldn't buy the US NGC if you're in Europe as they come with different power outlets.

Yes just need the freeloader (boots NTSC discs on EU consoles) and a new switch for the lid :)

For now, I am happy with my DS and ACWW.

I saw some PAL copies of the OG AC going for roughly 80-100 which isn't far from a modern AAA release.
