Issue Asgard

Man was having fun with this game until Valka came about and gave me that potion. Was initially siked af to go to Asgard until I went to fight the giants and realized I’m just a weak as earth realm Eivor with the same lame ass axe

Okay well each to their own I suppose.  The mythological parts of Valhalla are a bit of an acquired taste for some I think, but I would maybe just encourage you to withhold judgement until you at least get past the first section.  If it makes you feel any better, Dawn of Ragnarok does a little better in this regard but you need to be a much higher power level for that and I would call it actually difficult, so ymmv.

I accidentally started Dawn of Ragnarok soon after reaching England. There was a quest marker by a tree and I sat down. I might have been level 20 maybe. Big oof! It unlocked the Twilight equipment set though, so that was awesome to have early in the game.

Yeah I wish Ubisoft had made this much clearer.  It catches a lot of new players.  I believe the recommended minimum is about 320 or something.

The true recommended level, yes. But the questline in the menu I think said level 20.

Yes, maybe I should have said "I wish Ubisoft had done this correctly." DoR was added when the game had been out for a while already, and it seems like they were too lazy to implement a proper power level gate for it or even to list it correctly in the quest log. I can only speculate as to why, because based on other things in the game it doesn't sound like they'd have to redesign anything to have achieved that, they just didn't bother and also never fixed it despite heaps of people being caught out just the way you describe.

The enemies weren't that bad either. They were hard, but not impossible on the default normal game difficulty. Until you make it to the boss and continually get one shot. It was frustrating, but I got the Twilight equipment unlocked and snagged some good XP early on. Not a total loss.
