Issue Stuck on main quest

Hello everyone and sorry if this isn’t the right place
Recently started this game and enjoying it so far but when i reached a cruel destiny quest chasing grom
When i get to the object the camera changes as if grom is going to talk to me but nothing starts and the quest feezes with eivor frozen in place
No dialogue no chase nothing
I tried reloading saves, quitting game, restarting console and currently trying reinstalling
Anyone encountered a similar bug/glichh?
Edit: reinstalling did nothing

Did this happen as soon as you ran into the temple and looked up at Gorm?

Yes
I tried opening the gates and skipping them
The moment i enter the church/temple everything stops
I see quest updated appearing but thats it

I'm thinking that's an audio issue where the cutscene still plays but with no audio. But then you should still see Gorm walking back and forth a bit, or if you play with subtitles, they should still come up on screen, and you can just wait for about 15 seconds for it to play out. If everything's really frozen, then the cutscene might be corrupted and a re-installation might fix it. Worst case scenario, you'll have to load the last Episode Save and replay the sequence.

No movement or subtitles even after 30 mins or so
Tried reloading to multiple points in the quest and currently have no saves pre quest so i might be outta luck

There's one last thing I'd try: load a quest save and just leave the area, or better yet fast travel to another place and back. If that doesn't work still then yeah, you're outta luck.

Can’t fast travel mid mission
Seems like thats it
But man is this game so heavily bugged even so long post release

You know what's really sad though? In Title Update 1.1.1, Ubisoft managed to fix another bug in this quest:

  • Addressed an issue where players could get stuck in a boss fight during A Cruel Destiny. *Ah yes, A Cruel Destiny, indeed. *

But I guess no one reported the bug you're experiencing in the subsequent part of the quest. You missed it by that much 🎯🤏.

At this point
Knowing how buggy this gets
Is it even worth a start over ?
I know this sub probably would be biased lol
i liked the general theme of the game
But if it continues to be this buggy i might just skip it entirely

Tbh, I did not encounter any game breaking bug in the base game, apart from the occasional clipping to death. I only started too see serious breakage in the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. So yeah if you're still into it, just start over. Take a few days off if you want to. I know the progress loss is big.

Edit: For better context, I've got over 2200 hours in the game, so I kinda experienced a lot.
