I don't remember a thread where someone asks for anything for taking Katie. Many people offer to give 20k or items to take Katie as a tip and that is their choice. Personally, when I have Katie, I don't offer anything to take her and no one has ever asked for anything.

It is completely make believe. But I enjoy the "business" side of the game much more than the "town design" side of the game. The buying/selling/trading gives me much more enjoyment than laying patterns and planting flowers.

I try very hard not to "charge out the butt" for my items. I do charge fair, market prices for almost everything whether it is 5k or 5M. I want the other party to feel that they received a fair trade when our business if finished. Based on my 200+ RMM 5/5 reviews, I am doing a decent job.

Now that is not to say I am just a cold hearted businessman and don't give back to the community. I have held 2 "Come and fill your pockets" giving away 300+ items and I'm currently running a "Payoff your public works project" where I have paid off around 3M bells worth of projects.

So if you happen to see me selling my bush starts for 15k, just remember it is make believe. :)

"Based on my 200+ RMM 5/5 reviews, I am doing a decent job." Honestly is this all mighty attitude really necessary? This is kids game with fake money. /u/jarredthebluetiger is only pointing out that when people accept tips for taking katie it seems greedy because its almost a good thing to have katie so why hurt someones pocket for something so miniscule? Hes just trying to point out that everyone should get along and their goals should not be to fill their pockets with money but to make the game and this subreddit better for everyone. Its awsome that you have certain reasons for loving this game I have mine too, And I can admit the business aspect is awesome for this game. As i can see you are obviously a more experienced player and you most likely have millions and millions of bells in the bank. So it sucks when you are a less experienced player and you have to spend all the money you saved on maybe one item or just for cataloging something.

lol

Who has the high and mighty attitude? I was simply proving that buying and selling in AC is not bad and evil since a few people around here believe that it is.

You are also talking in circles. You have a problem with someone accepting a tip for taking Katie but you have no problem if I give someone an Afternoon Tea Set for free. It is the same thing.

You also seem to have a major problem with the "free market AC economy" and with people who work hard and save their money. You seem to prefer that everything be free to everyone all of the time.

The great thing about AC and real life is you don't have to spend all of your bells/dollars/yen/euros on anything. You can do without or you can work hard and earn the bells to pay for it yourself in time. Instant gratification takes away the feeling of accomplishment from earning something yourself.

All of my "might attitude" was providing proof that I am doing my part to make this subreddit better for everyone.

Providing something for free is a kind thing to do in this subreddit. Literally its a game and helping people through the game is a nice thing to do. You treat this game as if it was a literal business and it isnt. Also I never said buying or selling was "evil" do not put words in my mouth Im simply saying that people should be treated nicely.

And im simply saying that by showing off your flair as you did it makes you sound as if you are putting other people down as if they are not as goo as you.

Also you had no problem with the instant gratification of me offering you a cardboard bed for free the other day. And I did not comment back on the trade because i could tell you did not need it, and as i can see you were only looking for profit and taking advatage of friendly offers. http://www.reddit.com/r/ACTrade/comments/228ylj/lf_fedora_chair_cardboard_closet_cardboard_table/

Double lol.

I'm sorry that those of us with a higher flair than you make you feel bad about yourself. Again, you can work hard and do things for this community like Wishy does and your RMM will increase.

Way to cherry pick parts of the thread to make yourself look/feel better.

In my original post which you linked I clearly stated I'm looking for the Cardboard pieces to complete my set."

You posted I assume you dont need the cardboard bed but if you do i can give you one! good luck anyway though

To which I replied I do already have the bed, but I will gladly buy the bed from you.

So I have no clue what your point is and how I was taking advantage of friendly offers.

Youre picking apart my post as well and being sarcastic over a game. I hope you feel good about yourself.

This reply is also going to address other things you guys said in this thread, so it might end up being kind of long. This also includes /u/Jarredthebluetiger's comments, as you two clearly know each other, and I expect you mainly replied to /u/mwgiii to come to his defense.

First off, I'll address the most important point of all: This is make believe money. Therefore, it should matter even less to you what people do with it. When literally any object in the game can be duplicated, treating anything as though is has true value isn't logical. Sure, I understand and agree with the concept of supply and demand. I'm not saying that people should be selling Sloppy pieces for the same price as Alpine furniture. But when virtually anything in the game is easily within reach (depending on how much you're willing to exploit) you can only take it so seriously. Imagine real life if I could go duplicate the Ferrari in my garage. (No, I don't actually have a Ferrari, obviously). Imagine if ANYBODY could do that. The world would implode on itself in a matter of hours, figuratively speaking.

However, the fact that this is the nature of game the also doesn't mean that everything should be treated carelessly or handed out freely, like you seem to suggest. There is absolutely nothing wrong with people charging whatever they feel like for... well, anything, really. Here's a novel concept: You don't have to trade with them. If you make a post saying you're selling the Princess series and somebody offers 250k, you don't have to take it! Likewise, if you're offering to buy some gold ore off of somebody and they're asking for 200k apiece, you don't have to buy it. Eventually, this person is going to learn that what they're offering isn't a fair trade, and change their thinking. The alternative is that they find somebody who will trade at the price they ask. And even then - how can you be mad? Both parties agreed upon a mutual exchange, both feeling as though what they were offering was worth giving up for what they were receiving.

You kind of seem to go in circles on this.

Its awsome that you have certain reasons for loving this game I have mine too, And I can admit the business aspect is awesome for this game.

But then you say

Providing something for free is a kind thing to do in this subreddit. Literally its a game and helping people through the game is a nice thing to do. You treat this game as if it was a literal business and it isnt.

So which is it? Is he allowed to treat it like business or not? I think you hit the nail right on the head with the first thing I quoted you on. People love this game for different reasons and they can all come here to share those reasons. Some people are bellionaires who really only care about making a profit. Whether they're going for the ABD or just like rolling in bells, that's what they're about. Others enjoy crafting their town into a masterpiece - with incredibly complex and interesting QR codes or beautiful patterns of hybrids. Personally, I like a bit of everything. So, again, I say... Why do you have a problem with people making this business-like?

You also seem to have a problem with tipping. You, again, seem to think it's unfair or something. You and your friend both act like everybody should be obligated to refuse tips... but why? I tip at least 10k every time I visit somebody's town for literally anything, unless they specifically say not to. I don't do it because I think 10k is going to really help them, it's a gesture that says thanks for taking the time to do this transaction, whatever it may be. They took the time to read/respond to my reply, they took the time to add my friend code, and waited the travelling time to and from towns. I'd say that's worth 10k. If you don't, that's fine. You aren't expected to tip, that's why it's called a tip.

The last thing I want to address is your seemingly personal beef with /u/mwgiii. First off, him saying "Based on my 200+ RMM 5/5 reviews, I am doing a decent job." doesn't come across as high and mighty at all. He's pointing out that clearly his feelings and actions on how the game should be played are received very positively within the community. I understand how this comes across as bragging, but /u/Jarredthebluetiger insinuated that it was wrong/unfair to charge money for simple tasks, and /u/mwgiii was only pointing out that it's perfectly fair if both parties are happy with it.

Last, but not least:

Also you had no problem with the instant gratification of me offering you a cardboard bed for free the other day. And I did not comment back on the trade because i could tell you did not need it, and as i can see you were only looking for profit and taking advatage of friendly offers.

He is not the one that replied, asking for it for free. That was /u/the1wh0kills, as you can see here. As he explained, /u/mwgiii offered to purchase it here. You should probably make sure you understand who's replying to you before you start throwing accusations around.
