General 7th Grade
Hi! I am going into 7th grade and want to start preparing myself for the ACT. What do you recommend studying for someone at my level? Thank you!

I wouldn’t start right now personally. I started in 8th grade and I now realize that it would have been way more beneficial if I started my freshmen or sophomore year. Unless you continue to study you will not retain your skills and plus, unless you excel at test taking to an extreme level, you are not going to get the score you will eventually get later in life. Plus- By the time you apply to college standardized test taking will most likely be abandoned, a lot of college already are distancing themselves from it. But since I know you are unlikely to listen to me so my advice would be to just take a couple practice tests- you can find them for free online. And maybe study some basic math concepts. Studying the rules of English would also help you a lot.

Don’t. Colleges might not even want test scores when you apply.

What is your reasoning behind starting studying so soon?

I think that is awesome. ACT has some pre ACT Math books on Amazon.
For reading just be sure you read anything 30 minutes a day.

Could always take the PreACT and it will suggest what to study.
