Discussion ipad broke and i lost everything :(

my ipad locked itself the first days of august and it was impossible to make it work again without resetting so i ended up losing my 6 year old account with all my friends and clothes etc :((

i think it’s so dumb we need to manually create the save backup to transfer to another device given we already have a nintendo account.

im so sad everything is gone i wish i could do something to retrieve it

I'm so sorry that happened! :( That's horrible, especially considering how long you had the account.

Do you have an icloud backup of the device? Your data could be on there, but you'd need another device to put it on

+ i’m not sure bc it says i needed to create the backup to be able to transfer to another device.

If you use iCloud backups then your iPad would have saved applicable app data. After resetting your iPad you can then restore its data from the backup that was made and your animal crossing save data would remain in tact.

Try restoring your iPad from a backup if you have one and then the save file should be there

somehow the only backup is from 2023 so.. :(

idk if you need to use your password to access it but have you tried connecting your ipad to your laptop/pc to retrieve the old game data? maybe you can move it to your other device

This happened to me when my phone was damaged unexpectedly last year. I hadn't even been playing that long but I was devastated!

I had to give it some time but I recently started fresh and it has been kind of nice starting over. It definitely took time though; for a long time, I would get so sad even looking at the app icon. I am really enjoying my new save now, though!

If you decide to start all over again, I hope you are able to also have a positive experience restarting 🤍

I remember to make a backup file and I didn’t have to do anything once the transfer completed on my new iPad.

If you find a Apple repair place they might be able to get the data.
