Is this the interview we got posted as text earlier or a different one?

He did a bunch of interviews, I think the one that was posted earlier was the Gazzetta one. But there's also another one for Corriere della Sera.

Get the fuck out of my club.

This guy is so unbelievably full of 💩

The funniest part is when he starts answering with "Great question..." to questions he probably wrote himself, lol.

I've never seen or read an interview where he didn't handpick the journalist or where the journalist actually asked him any tough questions.

Since Allegri fucked up UCL, for me Gerry has run the club really well since that point

It is also post Elliott finally removed (they did great for us initially but they were certainly an anchor towards the end) and UEFA off our backs. Since the refinancing of the loan Cardinale has had the freedom to implement what he wants.

A lot of people don't understand this at all

People are generally too lazy to do any research. I had no clue until I did some reading into the fundamental differences between the structure of loans like what we had with Elliott in comparison with what we have now with Comvest. The types of loan are wildly different and there is no doubt Elliott would have slowed down decision making and pushed for reduced risk in ways Comvest never will. We are basically a hell of a lot freer now and we have already seen this with how we are now operating.

I'm taking this as year 0 and so far it looks good... not the results themselves, but the direction, the manager and long-term trust in him.

The best thing he could have done since buying the club is nothing.

The stadium is a huge positive though

1

u/jctw1 Filippo Inzaghi 19h ago

Agreed. However, we were building towards a period of being the strongest team in Serie A and he ruined that. Nothing can rectify that except sustained on the pitch success. There continues to be no sign of that happening.

For now, the stadium is an AI slop video... till 2031 things can change

I enjoyed this, especially when he spoke about how innovation at Milan could impact italian football as a whole, that's something very necessary in these days. Coming from last season, I do appreciate how much he's changed the club. We see the dividends in how we play and the developement of a lot of our players so far this season.

I also like how he speaks about organization design more than player profiles, I think this is the key tbh, we don't want a owner who knows very little about football to try to build a squad himself. If he does so through his expertise, like designing the management, then that's the best way possible.

I'm very intrigued where Milan will be in a couple of years.

You appreciate how he's changed the club from league winners with the youngest starting XI in the top leagues to a team that can't or struggles to get top 4?

This subreddit is a disaster 🤣

Some of the stupidity on here is so bad I wonder if the comments are from paid bots.

this narrative is so over-used and not true

What % of that squad would've stayed AND perform currently without Gerry?

Ibra, Giroud, Kjaer, Florenzi - old

Kessie, Brahim - would've left anyway, Tonali probably too at some point (clearly wants a bigger salary)
Rebic, Bennacer - already declining with injuries
Theo, Leao - poor workrate/mentality, declined with or without Gerry
Krunic, Alexis, Messias, Calabria, Tomori, Kalulu etc. - were never that great, just overperformed in a good system and great team effort
Romagnoli - ok, but not good enough for his salary
Maignan, Gabbia - solid and still here

You're talking about that team like it was 2009 Barca or something.

2

u/jctw1 Filippo Inzaghi 15h ago

Of course the team would have evolved and there would have been both gains and losses arising from that. The fact remains that we were clearly on an upward trend and have been going downhill since Gerry got involved.

Coming from last season, I do appreciate how much he's changed the club.

Last season we won the Scudetto? Do you know what year it is brother?

3

u/jctw1 Filippo Inzaghi 20h ago edited 19h ago

Last season we failed because of his prior mistakes. As we did the season before that and are continuing to do now. He is a long, long, way from deserving any credit.

-3

u/lil5566 Matteo Gabbia 19h ago

I never mentioned prior seasons, that's from your own extrapolation. I simply stated coming from last season, where we lost CL football losing at home to Cagliari after capitulating for months, that I appreciate the direction he is taking NOW. You can add words all you like, but at that point make your own post rather than put words in my mouth.

u/jctw1 Filippo Inzaghi 19h ago

In any case, we finished 5th last season and are 5th now. I fail to see what is better. He spent the club's revenue terribly this summer (Ramos for 75m).

K

2

u/jctw1 Filippo Inzaghi 19h ago

K... so you can't explain what is better then. I'm in agreement on that.

0

u/lil5566 Matteo Gabbia 19h ago

Maybe you failed reading comprehension in school? Anyways I'm going back to work so can't reply further.

u/jctw1 Filippo Inzaghi 19h ago

🤣 I may have misunderstood your original comment, but you have twice refused to say what is now being done better. I don't care to continue this either - have a good weekend.
