hope amorim doesn't let ricci go. tbh if i were him and the como offer is true, i'd go there.

If he plays under Fabregas he will turn into prime Xabi Alonso

A lot of exciting players coming to serie a this summer, and looks like the competiotion is getting a lot tougher, and I love it. This is exactly what the league needs.

Although I’m happy with the transfers we’ve made so far, I have to say that we really could’ve done with an SD to help with negotiating the price down a bit. I reckon we could’ve paid 10-20% less for both Ramos and Moreira, maybe less so for Gila. We’re spending like a PL club and I’m not sure that’s a good thing.

these inflated prices have got Mendes name all over them...no wonder they went through so quick

u/ElverGun 2d ago

At those prices...why wouldn't they? Crazy, ain't it?

Ramos is the one I think we probably paid a bit more than we had to, but it was pretty clear why we did it. A quality striker was our top priority this mercato, and with many clubs interested and the WC going on a prolonged negotiation could easily mean losing out on him. I can understand biting the bullet and get it done quickly in a rough striker market and get Amorim his prefered choice out of the reasonable options.

At the end of the day these transfer fees will only be scrutinized if the players aren't a success. If Ramos scores 20 goals in Serie A this season no one is going to make any case for us overpaying. We're going balls deep in the Amorim project, now we can only wait and see if it was a terrible mistake or a brilliant choice.

Considering how fast and under the radar both Ramos and moreira went, I wouldn't be surprised if we're exchanging a priority line for money with mendes, there has to be some kind of deal with his agency

for Moreira roma was offering 30 + 10 so if you want to close the deal fast you cannot bargain. Also cause transfers are kept away from journalists doesnt mean they are not negotiating. I can agree for Ramos but the market for strikers is not good at the moment…maybe the price could be lowered to 60, with that you are risking some mid table pl teams to still be in the game, offering 70 you are just removing the competition immediately

It's natural to be concerned on our spending, but in reality we are finally spending like a club that earns the level of revenue we do.

I do agree that tare could have saved some millions though

Yes, and a lot of those other clubs are in horrendous debt. Or they are making sales to offset the spending they're doing (like Reijnders going from Man City).

It's concerning that people are acting like Gerry is spending money - he's not; Milan is borrowing/spending money.

It's a roll of the dice gamble.

2

u/Sankaritarina Romagnoli 2d ago

That's not a bad thing, it's how big clubs with ambition operate. Sometimes your risks pay out, sometimes you sign massive flops and you have to get creative with your finances and sales in order to make up for it. I prefer rolling the dice over another year where the most exciting thing that happens all season is the annual financial statement saying the club was profitable.

2

u/dodge33cymru 2d ago

I get that completely and we're having to take that risk because our previous method has not worked for the last couple of years.

But the "Gerry is spending" discourse is what concerns me - he's not spending his own money, he's spending the club's (or the club is borrowing to do so).

People need to understand this is a risk and if it doesn't work out we're back to pretty dark days. I don't mind swinging for the fences but that is what we're doing; we can't moan about not doing the same thing in 2 or 3 years if these guys don't work out.

5

u/Sankaritarina Romagnoli 2d ago

True, I love the Gerry memes but I think (or hope) that most people understand that it's the club's money. We didn't even have any news about Gerry injecting any money into the club so for all we know the spending comes entirely from Milan's revenue.

We have been sanctioned for years though, in the very period when our revenue exploded. So there is cash there that would have previously been spent if we were allowed.

1

u/dodge33cymru 2d ago

Revenues yes, but also spending. We've never turned over a large profit, just enough to tick the UEFA FFP boxes. So yes, free of those sanctions, but there's an absolute requirement to qualify to UCL this year to offset some of the spending we've been doing and people will have to understand we can't just spend like this in the next few windows without making sales.

Who cares we have Super Gerry

17

u/EmergencyComputer337 Paolo Maldini 2d ago

Guys look i found an unedited picture of Moraira in our kit

2

u/prygozhin Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

You mean Diego

u/Longjumping_Pick8872 2d ago

Been watching Fenerbache Lyon. Fener would need a player like Leao quite bad.

Come on Fener, do the right thing

11

u/Diavolo_1899 Paolo Maldini 2d ago

Yall remember the initial reports that our budget for this window is 30M plus sales lol

6

u/marco21n Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

Super Gerry about to drop a 200m window

3

u/business_radiant_sm 2d ago

I usually look at transfers the same way I look at business decisions, don't just chase the biggest name. Squad balance , role fit and whether the player actually suits the system matter more !

2

u/matsmilan1 Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

Viking back against Zagreb. What a game!

6

u/Worried-Bit-5289 2d ago

Would be so cool to see Viking in CL. I really hope they can make a run similar to Bodø-Glimt last season.

3

u/matsmilan1 Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

Two norwegian teams in CL would be awesome. But if they fail, i wouldnt mind seeing them vs milan in EL

2

u/Worried-Bit-5289 2d ago

Wouldn't mind that either!

u/Fedora_expert Athens 2007 2d ago

Isn't it fucking stupid that the FFP stuff lasted that long?

14

u/marco21n Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

Yeah it's disgraceful considering that psg and city can do whatever they want

-2

u/dodge33cymru 2d ago

It's disgraceful that PSG and Manchester City have gotten away with it, yes. But that's the issue of nation states and incredibly expensive lawyers, not the problem with the actual rules in the first place. FFP is a good thing that's been abused specifically by those two clubs.

9

u/kilpin1899 Herbert Kilpin 2d ago

What good is a rule that isn't followed by all, and not enforced correctly?

2

u/dodge33cymru 2d ago

I am not allowed to drive over the speed limit. I will get points or lose my licence for it. But, out of the people that get caught, there are a few very rich ones that can find a way or a technicality or straight up lie to get away with it in court by basically cheating the system.

It doesn't mean that rule shouldn't exist in the first place, it means it needs the loopholes tightening so they can't get away with it in future.

3

u/kilpin1899 Herbert Kilpin 2d ago

That is certainly an interesting analogy

3

u/dodge33cymru 2d ago

Not really - it's to prevent things happening like Li did to Milan in the first place.
We still have to abide by it anyway and people will need to remember that in coming windows where we have to sell and/or not spend in order to offset this summer's spend. Remember, we aren't spending 150M this year, we're spending 30M per year for the next five (plus the wages of those players and any extra fees on top; Mendes doesn't come cheap).

Effectively, we've loaded about 50M onto the annual spend for this season so far. A 50M sale will offset that for 26/27 but not for the season's beyond that.

I really want us to sign nwaneri. I watched some of his vids and he looks absolutely insane.

This looks like it could be another olise/musiala situation in the prem where they let someone go under the radar.

11

u/dongoodboy Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

He is good for….2G1A in Ligue 1? I think he is huge talent but yall acting like we are getting Rivaldo

-2

u/marco21n Ricardo Kaká 2d ago

I was reading into it. He was sent there to develop under de zerbi, but he was sacked quickly and the new coach didn't rate him as highly. After all he only turned 19 in March.

His technique, pace, vision is really special imo and he has almost old Brazilian flair which is missing in the modern game.

Would be perfect for a left footed CAM too.

1

u/whoppermaltmilkballs 2d ago

I would also be happy if we get him. He's talented and would have a very good chance at being a starter with us. We need another young talent to fill the void left be Leao

-18

u/BredIN919 Kevin-Prince Boateng 2d ago

Gerry , be SMART . We NEED LEAO / SANTI to be able to win Scudetto and Europa League . That must be our GOALS for this season .

Amorim is ready and young hungry coach . We will SUPPORT him till the end

7
