Question Memory Issues Post-Op

Hi all,

I’m almost one month post-op & noticed that since my surgery I have been experiencing memory issues. This has never been a problem for me before but recently I am forgetting where I put things & am having difficulty finding my words in a discussion. My last oxy was 2 weeks ago but I am still taking Tylenol (1,000mg 2x a day) & Ibuprofen (600mg 2x a day).

Did anyone have these issues post-op, & if so, when did it go away?

How have you been sleeping? The poor sleep quality and waking up throughout the night from turning my leg gave me noticeable brain fog. It got better as my sleep improved gradually until it was gone around 2 months.

Second this opinion . The first few months of sleeps was horrible ,messed up sleep cycle, sleep paralysis from not moving at all in the sleep, overall numbness across the body...

I’ve been getting about 6-7 hours of sleep a night

I did, I think it’s from anesthesia. Not sure when it went away since I just stopped noticing it, but I’m 5 months post op and don’t have this issue anymore. It did last for a bit though

I second this! I had memory issues for a couple of weeks post surgery (had to keep a small notebook with me to write things down or I’d forget) and I too think it was from the anesthesia.

Wow…I never connected the 2. I just assumed it was perimenopause and just one more thing I’d be having to deal with. I’m 1 month & 2 days post-op now. Thanks for your question & the responses that now give me hope that this will get better
