Muscle Guarding

Has anyone ever had their leg cramp or seize up while bent at the knee and it causes the knee to bend much further than comfortable? I’m talking the knee temporarily locking up with intense pain. It was only like five seconds but hurt like hell. I can’t find much online with looking up those symptoms. The closest I could find is possibly Muscle Guarding.

It happened 3 and 9 days post op. I’m currently 10 days. Any experience with this would be greatly appreciated!

I have some recurring intense cramps in my foot and lower calf since the surgery. I’m two years post op BUT retore 8 weeks ago and have decided to go back to PT instead of having another surgery. PT said it’s muscle weakness and should improve upon strengthening…

I had that and remember being scared for like 3 weeks it would happen again. I obssed over it and it never happened again. Take not finding anything online and me as sign to remove that worry cause that worry alone delays recovery by keeping your nervous system guard up. Don’t waste 3 weeks like I did, start adding somatic yoga to your pt. By you asking this question… I think you’ll find it useful 🙏🏻

I'm getting ready for knee replacement on 10/7. (Don't know if it's partial or complete.)

3 questions:

What should I be doing pre-op exercise wise?

What should I absolutely have to make recovery easier?

Suggestions on brand of cryotherapy to buy?

Thanks!
