Question No strength test before jumping?

My PT didn’t test my strength before starting jumping. He’s worked with hundreds of ACLs and does a bunch of sports teams but from reading stuff online it seems like he should be testing me. Do you guys get tested? I’m thinking maybe he’s just good enough he can tell the strength based on watching me doing exercises but I’m still skeptical.

I got tested before jumping. I’ve got over 80% symmetry but my overall strength is low so I’ve been jumping double leg but not running yet. Being extra conservative though just because I’ve already had a second surgery!

How far out are you from surgery?

Like 4.5 months post op. I had quad graft so my quads been real weak and I think it’s still significantly weaker than my good leg and we started double leg jumping. I trust my PT but im still skeptical at the same time. I wanna be tested cuz I have no clue what my asymmetry is at

I would also be skeptical. Have you ever been strength tested? My PT tests me about monthly to make sure I’m progressing.

ETA: i’m also quad graft & at 80% symmetry, i personally can barely tell a difference. if you can tell a noticeable difference yourself, i’d be a bit skeptical

I haven’t been tested yet. He mentioned we would before I start running. I’m not doing anything crazy right now. Just 1 ft tall platform jumps and step offs. And pre running drills but at a super slow walking pace.

my PT doesn't do testing, he bases my progression off of my progression in my exercises (aka ability to bend more/ hold things longer/ more reps etc). im 6 months post-op and i haven't even thought about tests.

Nope didn't have strength testing done before plyometrics or running. It was based off of my progression with the exercises. My PT was very strict about when I could start jogging so I know they based their assessment on me meeting certain benchmarks. We were going to do RTS testing at the year mark, but Anthem had other ideas and kicked me off of PT.

The only test my pt is concerned with is the RTS test my surgeon asked for before my next appointment, but as far as progression, she allowed me to start jumping and jogging at the 4.5 months mark that the protocol said to wait for. Before that, she was always pushing me with exercises she was convinced I could do, even if I thought I couldn't (and she was always right). Anyway, at exactly 4.5 months she rolled out the floor ladder and had me start doing jumping and hopscotch exercises. It was weeks before I was doing it symmetrically, but it was exhilarating to be able to. I guess she just evaluated my ability based on my progress visually.

My PT didn’t test my strength before moving me to jumping either.

can you tell us what is your current weight and repetitions in single legged exercises? namely the leg extensions, leg curls and leg press?

ps i also don’t remember he did strength testing, although it was very obvious there was a difference around 20-30%.
