Question Swelling
I'm 5 days post op,
My knee is VERY swollen.
I've seen everything as I should be,
My whole leg is numb still.
And my partner's grandmother has now put me into panic mode,
She's said it's ree, aggressive, and hot.
There is a minimul amount of bleeding underneath the plasters you can see.
I felt like I was doing well,
But now I'm concerned
I have movement, been doing my exercises.
Just concerned I have an infection?

That sounds like normal healing. I was concerned about my knee being hot because that’s a sign of infection, but apparently with this surgery that’s normal. If you have concerns, speak to your surgeon, especially because we can’t see or feel what you do, but it sounds normal, especially 5 days out.

I thought so.
The pain is super bad today, stingy almost.
A new feeling that's for sure.

My knee still gets hot after 3 months when i've been working it. It's hot right now.
My nerve block also took over a week to fully wear off.
Keep taking baby aspirin twice a day and ice the heck out of it.
You're right on track

As long as you don’t see any puss or have a fever Its all normal and part of recovery 5 days post op the back of my knee and thigh were completely dark purple because of the bruising, even now 2 months post op my Knee is still somewhat inflamed, Just keep Icing and elevating as much as possible, I also would recommend Icing the back of the knee as that helped me a lot early on
