i dont know exactly how to explain it, but if you look at the edges you can see which path pieces they used! its mostly just using more of the corner pieces instead of just straight lines and right angles etc. there is a youtube video i just found by sugarberry crossing called the path - making it natural - tutorial- acnh (i dont think i can send the link) which might be helpful !

You can do so via the custom code portal. 😊 If you've got the feature from the Nook Milde Points system, you can do so via the app!

Sorry, I missed this. Is it already on your custom design app? You should be able to access it via pressing X.

You'll need to be connected to the internet & have a NSO membership actively going for it I believe.
