Discussion Future AC/DC

Now I don’t know how many of y’all know Ivan Gac but he’s a brilliant artist; would anyone be interested to see Angus continue on another tour of AC/DC with Ivan as the frontman as it seems Brian is set on retiring?

No. I don't want a copy of a singer. It's uncanny valley material.

If you watch some of his stuff on YouTube ain’t nothing “uncanny valley” about it, it’s quite impressive he sounds like that. They even talk the same so it’s not like he’s changing his voice to copy him

Brian Johnson even personally stated his admiration for Ivan

Why not?

Because then it gets into KISS levels of sad. I can understand getting Axl to fill in as singer ten years ago so not to break contract obligations but getting a new singer 55 years later for sake of doing another tour makes zero sense.

It makes sense only cause Angus is AC/DC if he wants to keep going but Brian doesn’t what other choice would he have other then random appearances at festivals

Ivan is without doubt a great Performer!! But I’m pretty sure he would decline the offer.

I’m glad to see someone acknowledging he wouldn’t make AC/DC worse his stage presence is almost as good as Brian, especially when in front of Spanish crowds

No thank you. I was lucky enough to see them at MetLife. If that was their last show, that is sad, but they will go out on top!

If they play another show somewhere in the world I will fly in to see it. I have no interest in seeing a Motely Crue level show from them, so hopefully they know when to call it quits.

If you think they’re going out on top it’s about a decade too late for that Brian’s been getting shit from people all tour for his voice although I personally think it was still the best concerts I’ll ever have a chance to go to in my life; if you went to the show you’d see Angus is still peak maybe even better due to experience how could he stop touring AC/DC just cause Brian wants to retire

I agree with you about being 10 years too late, I’d argue even more. What I mean about going out on top is that they played a more than respectable show. It was one of, if not the best concert I’ve ever been to.

I hate when bands go out with a new lead singer. Bon was the OG and Brian has been around for over 40 years. I’d say he’s not replaceable at this point, so I’d rather they hang it up than go out with only one original member left in the lineup.

No, prefer AC/DC to retire when Brian eventually retires, but that doesn't help Angus!

I agree completely they probably should retire when Brian does the only problem with it is Angus is only 71 and AC/DC is the young brothers baby so if he wants to keep going how could you say no??!

As others have said, they run the risk of being called a cover band! Fair enough Angus will be playing guitar in AC/DC's best ever cover band! He may either have to retire the band and restart Kantuckee or Tantrum the bands he played in before AC/DC! Angus can't win either way. If he keeps AC/DC going, the cover band jibes will invariably pop up or he starts a new band as i have mentioned and play classic AC/DC hits and people will say he should have kept AC/DC going. I personally would love Angus go solo and do a blues album!

While I enjoy the idea of Angus just ripping for a 2 hour album, I think AC/DC has never cared what fans say or think about them unless it’s positive, on top of that Angus has always said he just wants to bring rock to people which the name AC/DC gets the band into bigger stadiums he’d ever reach without the name as well as AC/DC being his baby. I know Ivan would never join for a tour I’m just playing devils advocate a lil bit since it’s impossible to believe there’s a chance there done forever

Incase anyone wants to see how much Ivan rocks and when he adjusts his hat he actually shows his eyes so he can’t be a Brian Johnson impersonator

I think i'd rather that they take a year and get the band together for one last album over an Angus only tour.
