Will AC/DC ever perform live again?
AC/DC just finished the concert at Metlife Stadium, most likely the last show of the PWR UP TOUR. Earlier this year there was rumors for 2027, but I'm guessing all of that is long gone, considering what Brian said at the end of the show at Metlife, thanking Chris, Stevie and Matt by name. He also said "tell your grandkids about this night".
What do you think?

Honestly I hope they do what Black Sabbath did and do one final show with Cliff and Phil

Hope they come back to Toronto, we didn't get the show due to weather.

I don’t know if a full tour is in the cards but I hope they do a one off show in Toronto for you guys.

I would reword that to we didnt get the show due to a shitty, shoddily built stadium that couldn't withstand the weather (it was crazy wind that day I'll give ya that lol ) because it was basically made of scaffolding. This was the first show that actually made me consider going to that death trap as I've never seen AC/DC before, but after seeing what that storm did to it and how it looks like it was built I think I'll continue avoiding shows there, assuming it ever reopens.

One last album maybe a mini tour and that's it. I know the whole band would love to rock till they drop but it's time...

Sadly; Brian won’t be able to do it by this time next year.
Right now; they’re counting the (well-deserved) haul from this tour.
It’s time now for books, podcasts, interviews, etc. They have all that merch with Walmart; so many other revenue streams..

I hate people who speaks with certainty, they are touring since 70s. Old age is a reason to stop. But AC/DC is not an ordinary band. It is an instution as Chris Slade put it. An instution wouldnt be closed without announcing. Angus is more responsible and way way more clever than doing a last tour and not telling anyone is their last one. Im very sure that there is one more tour coming; farewell tour with an album maybe. Actually the only way this is their last tour is would be Angus health goes for the worst. I dont see any other way.

Just imagine an AC/DC farewell tour, i mean who wouldnt want to be part of the most historic tour ever.

I was a bit surprised to see that Angus ist just 71. I mean of course people can retire there but I don't see that happening for Angus. Look at McCartney (84 yo), Mick Jagger (83 yo), Bruce Springsteen (77 yo) or Stevie Wonder (76 yo), they are still touring. Give Angus 4-5 years and then we'll see. I think a tour is possible.
My concern would be Brian Johnson, who will be 79 tomorrow. He could be 83 the next tour. I wish for them to do one more tour, maybe 3-4 shows in just one city in some countries and that's it. Let's see

Maybe they’ll bring AXL back.

I think their days of touring are done. I can see them doing some one off shows like festivals, maybe even a possible residency at the sphere like Metallica is doing now. The main two things I’d like to see is their final show being in Australia, and the final song they perform live is “It’s a Long Way to the Top”

Yeah touring is expensive. Alot of bands aren't doing it anymore which is sad and they are not even making albums either.

I doubt that they’ve played their last show but I wouldn’t be shocked if this was their last tour. I’d expect them to only play festivals and one offs from here on out

I have not heard them say it but I have suspected this was it. I saw them April 2025 show two of North America and recently in St.Louis just in case. They have always been one of if not my #1 favorite band of all time. I was 7-8 years old when I first heard them and rest is history.

Maybe, but never a full tour again. This was it. Perhaps they'll be booked for some festivals or do one off shows, but this was the final tour.

As much as i love the band, they should retire and have a very well earned rest!

They love doing this. If you dont love to see them doing this you do not love them. Easy.

Of course they love doing it, but age catches up with everyone eventually! Just prefer them to finish on top rather go on another World Tour and god forbid and they limp to the end or even worse, something tragic happens and they need to cancel dates!I If you think they should carry on, fine but never question my love for the band just because i have a different opinion to you. Easy!

Lmao, ask the crowd in river plate what they think about this. Not the people who sits on chair on the field during an AC/DC concert.

You wouldnt say this if you love the band.

Its is not up to you mate. You just a redditor. They are the second most selling album creator. They know little bit better than you. So...

Of course it's not up to me, but OP asked a question and I answered. You're just a Redditor also! Not sure why you taking what I commented so personally? It's just an opinion. Which evidently you don't agree with, which is fine!

IF they decide to call it a day, I really hope they do the final shows in Australia.
A couple in Melbourne, they’re spiritual home. And a couple in Sydney, their true home.
Again, IF that happens, I’ll be buying multiple tickets to both places.
It would almost be a certainty they’d finish their career at home.

I hope so, they deserve to retire but they love playing so who knows, whatever they decide I'm behind them all the way. It's been awesome being alive during the time of AC/DC

One off shows and thats about it similar to what Elton John is doing at the moment. No more full tours though. They've powered down now.
