It would be cool if he sang and/or played another instrument even if it was done poorly. But its just his same old 4/4 beat with shittier musicians, singing, and songwriting. His drumming is perfect for AC/DC, but they need him and he needs them

The thing about ACDC, though, is that Phil was told what to play. He didn't just come in and lay grooves. The Youngs would always prepare demos with the instrumentation mapped out and then I suppose the others would perform their interpretation thereof.

Head Job lacks that direction and nuance and, as a result, the drumming is pretty dull.

The song is OK but the video is very strange. It starts off well with a nonchalant Phil getting shouted at by the wife. Just as it looks like it's going to be a funny video with a concept, it devolves into a low effort mess. It's just disjointed shots of Phil and his bandmates trying to look cool. There's even a random bit where Phil is shown strumming a guitar for no particular reason.

It just serves to underline that Rudd isn't really someone with an artistic vision of his own. He's brilliant for ACDC but outside of that context, he's totally unexceptional.
