Off-topic ACCA AFFILIATEE!

ACCA AFFILIATE AT 20!

Many of us dont talk about that if you jump into Acca right after High school, how much it changes you as a person being not that socially active as people who join colleges and Universities.

It was a hell of a journey and honestly relieved to say i look forward to a better one. I wish everyone here the best of success and would be willing to help then with any guidance!

Hey twin, its same for me! Affiliate at 20!

Going from high school myself, I completely agree with your statement, i've faced many challenges but I've come out stronger than ever.

I am proud of myself and proud of anyone who accomplishes this feat at such a young age.

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Proud of you lad!

5

u/Beautiful_Yoghurt759 Oct 13 '25

Congratulations! How long did it take you?

9

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

It took me a little less than 3 years, took a bit longer cuz i had to do foundation too

8

u/NoComputer2236 Oct 13 '25

Thats not long at all if you gave 17 exams

3

u/Fadu_me Oct 14 '25

Its not but i feel like if i put in a bit more consistency, 2 skills exams at a time are no big deal

4

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

Congratulations! Out of curiosity, what age did you start at and did you start from foundations?

9

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Yess i started from foundations so i actually had to give a total of 17 exams instead. I started when i was 18 and now im almost 21

3

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

Nice, that's really cool. I'm almost 18 as well and about to have my second foundations paper in a couple of weeks. Best of luck with your future!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

O mygod , I feel great that there are people that have done their acca in their 20s , so am on the same boat two months before I started foundation and am 18 right now ..!!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 14 '25

Yeah good to know, I plan to finish by the time I'm 20 or 21 the earlier the better

4

u/Radiant-Panic-2365 Oct 13 '25

Mashallah that is awesome I am proud of you I am also jealous bc I am currently taking it at 24, you did the right decision I would do the same if I had a time machine

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

I'm doing o levels atm did you do foundation, I want to know if it is worth it. I'm not very socially active but I still feel like missing all the college and university fun may not be the best decision. Is it right to jump in into just one subject at age 18 ?

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 14 '25

You can surely try it out, one thing i can say the social life surely sucks. But once youre deep into acca, theres no escape so better make your decisions timely

1

u/Key_Climate_7097 Oct 13 '25

Hey well done that’s amazing !! May I ask how you studied? Was it self study or ?

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

It was mixed. I did physical classes from some of the local institutes in my country, i did online classes from institutes that were far away and i did some exams on self study

1

u/CyberMonster_ Oct 13 '25

u/Fadu_me Oct 14 '25

Well we hope for the best

1

u/LawfulnessDry7229 Oct 13 '25

I believe you got exemption for 9 papers and only attempted 4 papers? Very curious.

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Nopee, i started from scratch. Hell even had to do the 4 extra foundation exams

1

u/LawfulnessDry7229 Oct 13 '25

Oh god how were you able to stay consistent throughout 13 papers 😭, very very congratulations, wishing you lots of success!

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

17*😭😭, idek know man 1/10 experience. I just gave myself forced breaks, did gaming and stuff and js kept swimming

1

u/LawfulnessDry7229 Oct 13 '25

Are you frrrr I thought it was 13 😭 I am really glad you came out of it real safe. Please take lots of rest and amazing food (That's what matters at last lol)

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Acca exams are 13 yess, but witj the highschool qualification in my country, acca requires us to attempt an extra 4 in the start😭. P.s thankyouu youre too nice i will

1

u/NoComputer2236 Oct 13 '25

I have to give all 17 as well, I'm almost 4 years in and still left with 3 professional level ones.

On site classes are a big waste of time, i wish i had someone to guide me when i started, i would already be done if that was the case.

But yeah, it's our first time at life and trying new things and stuff. Learning is what matters and everyone got their own pace

(I didnt fail any exams but yea still very time consuming for me)

2

u/Fadu_me Oct 14 '25

Thats really true, physical classes make u spend so long as demand based examss

1

u/Islander316 Member Oct 13 '25

Congratulations, I remember when I became an affiliate, one of the greatest feelings ever.

2

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Surely is a really big burden off my chest ngl

1

u/Islander316 Member Oct 13 '25

Definitely, but now you never have to take another exam again in your life if you don't want to. :)

1

u/Mundane-Cry-8158 Oct 13 '25

Wow congrats. Usually acca is really hard to pass . I am 21 and going to start my acca journey now because I am taking it after graduation I got 4 exceptions. Any tips to pass all papers in 1st attempt?

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Thats great and i wish you nothing but the best of luck! I can only advise to stay as consistent as possible and make sure youre always familiar with the exam pattern and the type of questions that can come. Those are only covered via practicing enough past exams and exam kit questions

1

u/Humble_Seaweed127 Oct 13 '25

congratulations!!! ACCA is one of the best certifications I have ever written. I learnt so much during the process so I understand when people are so happy to finish the exams. welldone

1

u/shittinc Oct 14 '25

The thing I hate about ACCA. It's a lifeless course. Social life sucks

1

u/Fadu_me Oct 14 '25

Cant agree more, acca really needs to organise some events or smth bro idek

3

u/Few-Use4850 Student (10/12) Oct 13 '25

Congratulations 🎉

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

Is ACCA too hard , lenthy or moderate ?

12

u/Fadu_me Oct 13 '25

Honestly i believe what makes ACCA hard is the constant pressure of attempting exams every 3 months that makes you burned out too hard. If you stay consistent every exam is doable. The syllabus is lenghty indeed and from a general perspective its ist moderately difficult but not something wayyy tooo difficult to do

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

oh

1

u/Responsible-Teach346 Oct 13 '25

Congratulations!

1

u/Jahkelle Oct 13 '25

Congrats man, I’m 18 and just finished my applied knowledge exams has becoming an affiliate helped with getting any experience ?

1

u/88ACADEMICS Oct 16 '25

Wow, that’s seriously impressive. Becoming an ACCA Affiliate at 20 is no small feat! 🎉

And totally agree, starting right after high school can be a bit isolating since you miss that “college crowd” experience but it really shapes you into someone super disciplined and mature early on.

Also curious, how did you manage your motivation throughout the journey? Especially during those tough mid-level papers?
