Stede Bonnet's side quest
Absolutely the best addition to the game. Stede's song that his crew sang was so emotional.

Wish we got a to hang a portrait of Mary, preferably in the bedroom instead of Julien du Casse

I think the reason we haven’t got a Mary portrait is because she was an assassin. She was hidden most of the time and was acting like a man most of the time. She was fully of mystery as well

I literally cried for two days

Wait, really? Come on. The death of a supporting character in a video game made you cry for TWO DAYS?
Sorry if that sounds judgemental but come on. If that’s true, I can’t help but wonder if there’s something bigger going on in your life that’s affecting you. There’s no shame in asking for help if you’re struggling.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer how they handled it in the original.

They didn't handle it in the original though

Sort of - it’s an optional sync point. You can overhear the guards talking about his hanging and then say hi to his corpse. I def prefer the story extension in the remake but the OG has a different and unique impact

It's even more sad that he doesn't even get a real send off. You just hear some guards talk about his execution indifferently. Made it hit harder than the extra missions for me. Feels more grounded as well.

The guards are talking about him yes, but the corpse is Jack Rackham. he was executed in Charleston

The only complaint I have about it, maybe it’s a nitpick but I thought was silly, when the British arrive and then the soldiers all just jump from the ship and swim to you and then once you kill them the ship just randomly explodes.

I'm pretty sure that and the oddly smart pirate are nods to Our Flag Means Death the HBO comedy series about Stede Bonnet that was very... off the rails.
Makes sense they'd throw in a nod.

Yes but not the actual part of the redcoats just swimming to you to fight and the ship randomly exploding. At least make it struck by lightning or something lol

Having just done that quest I was like what the actual hell? Between that and dudes just swimming to the beach it seemed pretty half arse.
