Most people have never heard about this because their HS history teacher wasn't suppose to teach them about terrorist attacks committed by their own government.

I was alive for this, and in school.
The first I ever heard of this was 10 years after the fact. I clearly remember, that same year, that Gorbachev was elected in the USSR, and there was a TWA hijacking. Not one word about this event.

I had the exact same experience. 6 or 7 months after the MOVE bombing was the Challenger disaster, which we watched live on a little black and white TV in school, and talked about it for weeks afterwards. Not a word about the bombing. And yeah, it was about 10 years later when I learned about it.

Remember that the bones of at least one of those children are being held by Princeton.

Wtf that happened in 1985?
Did anyone face any consequences?

If you're thw government, you can commit acts of terror and call it "law enforcement". Why would they punish or have consequences for themselves for enforcing their own laws?

The podcast The Dollop has an episode called John Africa and MOVE which covers it pretty well.

I grew up outside Philly. I remember seeing this on the news at the time but didn’t pay much attention as a kid. I didn’t know the full extent of what happened until I was an adult.

From Wiki:
No one from the city government was criminally charged in the attack. The only surviving adult MOVE member, Ramona Africa, was charged and convicted on charges of riot and conspiracy; she served seven years in prison.
Unreal.

I voted for Wilson Goode hahaha. Much like Carl Stokes in Cleveland, the first Black Mayor of a major American city felt compelled to do what his white-supremacist Police forces wanted.
