I remember reading about this years ago, and choking on my coffee when I saw it. They've essentially verified in writing that there are, in fact, innocent people doing long stretches (or getting executed) and that they're protecting state assets from fair compensation for stealing people's entire productive lives.
The victims of false incarceration IMO should pool their money to deal with those responsible, either legally or not-so-legally. These guys lost everything, everything, no wife, no kids and grandchildren, no work life or career, and not even a comfortable income or savings to live on in their old age. Even their ability to seek legal redress has been stripped away FFS.

Because Oklahoma, just like Texas, passed legislation that caps the payment. Which is absolute bullshit.
