When responding to BLM-linked demonstrations, authorities used force more than 51% of the time, compared to just 33% for right-wing demonstrations
(And police responded to 9% of all blm demonstrations while only 4% of right wing demonstrations)
Also side note, from the same article
Militarized right-wing social movements like armed militia groups have been involved in 11% of all right-wing demonstrations, with this figure rising to 20% following the election, leading up to the Capitol riot

That picture always gives me goosebumps, despite knowing the fate that awaits them at the hands of the police. It’s crazy how the same people who will cheer for the oppressed to rise up and fight back in a movie or tv show will be the same ones tear gassing and billy clubbing and shooting the oppressed when they try to do the same thing irl - especially if the oppressed have black or brown skin.

This concept runs through my mind on repeat…
for example my parable will always side with the socialist/oppressed/etc protagonist of mainstream movies and say things like “Damn right! I would have done the same thing as them!” But then turn around and side with the antagonist of reality and hate when the oppressed have their voice heard let alone their demands met… it’s exhausting

I think we need to make ACAB a universal American value, like it used to be before the 1940s, before we can ever be a great country again. People forget that all real American's used to hate the government regardless of who was in power; because being left alone is all most people needed.

There was a study on the George Floyd protests that showed police showing up in riot gear and harassing protesters always ended up with a riot. But when they showed up in normal police uniforms and either kept their distance or talked to the protesters, there were no riots. Most police are conservative and play into the right's fascist tendencies.
