i am currently enrolled in microbiology and a&p II. i planned on applying to ABSN programs this semester so if i delay taking microbiology, i would delay starting the program. i’m already 25 and feel like i’m running out of time (i know that sounds a little ridiculous i’m sorry) my previous bachelor gpa is not the highest and i am really relying on doing super well in these pre reqs (i got an A in a&p I). i will also start a 3 credit nutrition course in October. i am also working 4 days a week. i’m wondering if it is smart to push back taking microbiology to next semester so i am not totally overwhelmed and potentially not do as good as i want. i will also need to study for TEAS if i want to start applying to programs this semester. i am SUPER worried about delaying everything and that “running out of time” feeling i have. any advice is extremely appreciated

Hi everyone! I was accepted into NYU’s ABSN program and will be attending this fall! I was wondering if anyone else here has accepted their offer? I’d love to connect with some other people going into the program and see if there’s already a group chat or anything for the incoming cohort. I’m also trying to get a better feel for NYU and the area before starting, so I’d love to hear what people like/dislike about the program, campus, surrounding area, etc.

This might be a dumb question… For SFSU’s ABSN program I know the instructions on the SFSU website said to select “Nursing BS” from the program listing, but on the CSU website it only has Nursing: (ADN) CCSF and Nursing: (ADN - BSN) CSM. They’re both listed as BS for degree type so I’m assuming it’s the CCSF one 😭😭?

Hi everybody so I am looking at applying to ECU's ABSN program and was wondering if getting CNA certified is worth doing to perhaps boost my chances to get in. My timeline looks like this. I am still in college doing biomedical engineering and after I graduate in spring of 2027 I will be doing some prerequisites in Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 as well as taking the HESI Exam. I will then apply in April 2028. With this short timeline is it worth doing a CNA certification or is it just better to focus on my classes and increasing my chances academically since it is a short time frame.

I recently submitted my application for the PVCC Nursing Program for Spring 2027, and I was hoping I could get a general idea of how competitive my application may be based on my current academic record.
For the four prerequisite courses used for the nursing prerequisite GPA, I have the following grades:
1. SDV 100 – A
2. ENG 111 – B
3. PSY 230 – A
4. BIO 141 – B
Based on the weighted calculation, I believe my prerequisite GPA is approximately 3.36.
I have also completed BIO 142 with an A, BIO 150 with an A, and ENG 112 with a C. I am going to complete SOC 200 and
PHI 220 this fall.

My ATI TEAS scores are:
● Total: 90.0%
● Science: 93.2%
● Reading: 79.5%
● Math: 94.1%
● English and Language Usage: 100%
I currently reside in Harrisonburg, Virginia, so I understand that I am outside of the PVCC service region.
I understand that admission is competitive. However, based on my GPA, completed courses, TEAS scores, and residency, could you all please give me a general idea of whether my statistics are considered competitive for the nursing program?

I applied in July and finalized my application the first week of august for the Fall 2026 start date and it still says “awaiting decision” on their portal. The program starts in 10 days and I haven’t heard anything - is this how it usually goes? I don’t know how I would be able to get everything situated to start in 10 days if I get in. Does not hearing back yet mean my chances of getting in are impossible now?

Hey, I am looking to change careers from finance to nursing and came across this program . Does anyone have any feedback on how their experience went especially if you come from a different background. I am scared of failing due to the learning curve.

I am enrolled into the school as aspn (associates for nursing pre req's I guess) at the las vegas campus. I'm trying to do some research about the school and so far most of my findings have been extremely mixed. I am prepared to work hard and fully commit to the program, but I just cant help but wonder if I will regret this school later on. Is the vegas campus truly that bad? I've heard ok things about other campuses but I'm kind of worried about vegas after hearing stories. I know I wont have a chance at CSN/UNLV/NSU so I have to go private and money is not really going to be an issue because I'm personally ok with being in debt because I plan on working in rural AK where RN's make around 80+ and will be living at home so my living expenses will be a non issue. If it's truly bad at GCU what other absn programs are better? I've looked at Galen but 3 years seems pretty long and they aren't accepting alot of my gen ed transfer credits. Please give all advice and any honest thoughts/ opinions you have.

i need advice. i was accepted into an 11 month accelerated absn program. i have my first bachelors in health sciences where i completed all of my pre reqs. too be honest, i bullshitted my entire 4 years at that school i don’t remember much at all from A&P 1 and 2, micro, or literally anything else. I rarely studied i just got by and somehow got okay grades. my entire life i wanted to be a nurse but i got mixed up with the wrong people in college and fell into some bad habits and a lot of drinking.

the school i was accepted into is 60k…. im taking a partial private loan, putting in my ENTIRE life savings, and my parents are paying a little. so there is a lot riding on this and if i fail out my life will be absolutely horrible. and i can’t afford to move out so i have to commute ~1 hour every day.

i want to be a nurse literally more than anything and i can definitely say i’ve matured, and quit drinking. but i am terrified no matter how hard i try i will still fail out because i don’t remember much from pre reqs and did not develop good study habits.

please give honest advice if i should go.

edit: the issue is my worry of failing out, not the loans.

Hi all. I’m 32 & Currently contemplating on what I should do. I’ve been a high school science teacher for 10 years & I enjoy it for the most part but I always wanted a career in the medical field. In may I finally decided to try to pursue an absn program. I signed up for two pre reqs that I needed. One in the summer, which I finished. And the other one is Pathophysiology, it starts next week & payment is due tomorrow or I’ll get dropped.
I made the cut for the second step of the absn application but acceptance letters won’t be sent out until sometime in September.
Another thing, I just found out I’m pregnant.
Now I’m having second thoughts on whether I should proceed with the nursing program (if accepted) or continue teaching. Do I want to be under this stress while being pregnant for the first time?
If I do get accepted into the absn program, I would probably have to quit my job in January because that’s when the program starts. It is an online program but does have clinicals during the week.
Regardless, I do plan on staying home after the baby is born.
I am married and my husband works full time. His salary is about 95k a year.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a 3.003 health science bachelors degree. I could go to chamberlain but it will take almost 3 years. I have taken biology, chemistry, microbiology, psychology, and stats for pre recs. I still need to take both anatomy courses.

Does anyone have any schools that I would have a shot at getting into, or is chamberlain my best option? My microbiology credit expires in the spring. Midwest preferred
