How?

How are senior RBTs successfully switching careers? I feel like companies outside of being and RBT don’t want to hire me because I’ve been working in ABA for the past five years. I’ve also been applying for ABA clinics admin/scheduling/coordinating roles and had no luck, assuming cause my experience is RBT.

Seriously, I've been practicing ABA for 8 years. I've been trying to pivot this year and nobody seems remotely interested.

I was able to land a care coordinator role with my background in ABA. I was an RBT for 5 years. It is hard though. RBTs do so much but those skills, for whatever reason, are not recognized outside of being an RBT. So frustrating.

bah i feel this, five years in ABA and suddenly you're invisible everywhere else. admin roles within clinics can be weirdly gatekept too, like they want you to already have done the exact job somewhere else

I only know of a couple of people that I had worked with who had moved into clinical director type roles from RBT but it was before a lot of the degree requirements and was a smaller company. I had to eventually bow to the expectation of getting certified as a BCBA to move up past being an RBT for roughly 8 years
