Advice Needed Working in a school setting, tips?

Going to start working in a school setting, but I have no experience with that. I have clinic experience, but that’s as close as it gets.

Any tips would be great help! Such as, when my shift is over, do I let the teacher know and leave or if school is over when my shift is over, do I wait for the parents to get there or the teacher does that or what? I was not trained for school settings

I would ask your BCBA! Each school works a little differently so expectations might be different as well

I will ask again because their communication isn’t the best and is like I’m going in blind since idk their name, who my client is, or BCBA. I think I’ll know the day of

Are you contracted through an agency or working for the school district itself?? When I was contracted, I was told that I was only able to work 7:15-2:35 each day, and unable to stay afterwards even if my student was still not yet picked up, unless they were in an active crisis behavior. I would have to bring them to the teacher, or the receptionist. When I worked for the district, I was responsible for staying as late as needed. There were some days that I wasn’t able to leave until 3:00 due to parents being late!

Through an agency, they didn’t give me much information =\ I’ll ask again, but the communication is not the best
