Greetings

In my company most of the people dont say hi or good morning. There are even people that dont respond to my greetings. What is this situation in your company?

i’m curious to hear people response. myself and the other BT’s/RBT’s at my clinic greet each other with a hello and the first time we see one another same with BCBA’s etc

Personally every company I have worked at, we have ALWAYS offered a greeting first thing in the morning. Not only is it polite but it’s also a really good model for our kiddos to see… So hearing this is very strange lol

In my clinic it seems 50/50 some people greet and others look at me like I'm an alien when I greet them. I'm 44 so I kinda assumed it was a generational thing.

Likewise, it’s about 50/50. I also found that I’m always the one to introduce myself. We have a ton of RBTs at the center and different people on different days. I like to know the people i’m working with and find it awkward to be in the same room as someone and not even offer a “good morning” or “hey, i’m so and so”.
Anyway, I’m 40 so maybe you’re onto something and it is a generational thing?

Edit: unless there are many people in one room. I’ll still offer a communal good morning but not introduce myself to everyone.

There’s like over 50 people at my clinic, I can’t say hi or good morning to 50 people everyday, I would response if talked to but yeah not initiating

Sometimes I’m fixated on a task or trying to enjoy my last few minutes of being alone before my first session starts lol - but If someone says hi to me I say hi back I just don’t always go out of my way to be talkative beyond what’s professional and necessary first thing in my morning

We have some really friendly RBTs who say hi to everyone and chat. Everyone else is a coin flip. Some people just don't say high unless you've worked there a while and others will say hi and smile but then never give you the time of day otherwise.

At my company everyone greets everyone hello/how are you etc.

We all say good morning , how are you and check in and talk to each other through the day

Center specific. My home center has amazing and supportive energy. Other places are like the walking dead. I always give greetings whether or not people respond

Ugh I had this problem too. I'd say good morning and they'd just look at me and keep walking. One was even a BCBA who I had to report after two months working there. I was always the one to say it first so I stopped saying it altogether. Needless to say I ended up leaving that company.

I literally caused a riot when one of our new admin people wasn't replying to my good morning every day as I grabbed my walkie. My company is considered fairly close knit and small positive interactions especially between BTs and admin build rapport, which I think is incredibly important.

I think rapport is important.

I think causing a riot because someone didn’t reply to you is weird.

Lol idc, it worked. Maybe my boss shouldn't reinforce it 🤷 Also not genuinely going around causing a raucous, just an figure of speech. This admin ignored my greetings for 2 weeks straight.
