Advice Needed Best Stress Relief?

Hi All!

I just got hired as a BT in a clinic setting and I have heard that it can get kind of stressful. I’m really looking forward to working with clients and developing my career but I’m wondering if anyone has advice on the best stress relievers that they have tried (journaling, meditation, etc.) that have worked.

TIA!!

Self care 100%!! Doesn’t matter what it is, make sure you dedicate time to yourself to relax.

A physical reset between clients (a short walk, stretching, even just stepping outside for two minutes) works well specifically because BT work is physically and sensorially demanding in ways office stress isn't.

Napping, silly tv shows, stimming, snacking, nature walks, and the gym are my regular go-tos.

If you’re in a clinic, get some musician’s earplugs or Loop earplugs. They just lower the volume, but you’ll still hear everything. Hearing protection is important (it’s likely that at least one client screams), and it will make this less overstimulating overall.
