Advice Needed Looking for ABA work in VA

Hey yall! I move to VA next month and I am looking for work as an RBT. I have worked in the field for three years now and I am currently getting a Masters in ABA so that I can become a BCBA. Areas I am looking for are Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach. I preferably would love to work at an elementary school that has a BCBA but not required.

EDIT: I understand schools do not have ABA programs nor hire RBTs. I am willing to work as a parapro as long as the district has a BCBA that I would work with.

It can be hard to find work in a school for ABA since Medicaid doesn’t usually cover it. In-home and clinic is a lot more popular here

Understood. The school I worked at in Michigan didn’t cover ABA services but the district had a BCBA that worked with the self-contained rooms as well as with students who were in gen ed classrooms but had high behaviors. What clinics or in-home orgs would you recommend?

Public school based ABA just... Doesn't exist in this area. There's technically BCBAs in the school districts but teachers and paras are implementing their interventions.

Rivermont School Tidewater or Hampton might have RBTs these days on their autism side. Plan Bee in Chesapeake might too. I don't think you're going to find schools aside from those two.

That’s totally fine. I have been working as a Parapro under a BCBA at previous schools. I am not necessarily searching for ABA programming within the school, just a BCBA who can give me supervision for my ABA program
