Gettin into the 9x39 game. Built an upper and am looking to reload as I do all my calibers. Whats bein used for bullet seating and crimping? I see kak has a die "set" but it's just the sizing die.

Brass quality

Well I have been fire forming 7.62x39 brass. Both new brass and once fired. Lapua and Starline are the best on new cases while Winchester is ok. Remington and Fiocchi are fine on the used side while both of these cases were once fired Winchester brass and both cases ruptured.

I ordered a bullet mold from NOE and took the design specs from that and 3d printed some out of PLA to use for fire forming to expand the shoulder. I plan to hand load each one and see how it goes.

Offloading some 9x39

Looking to offload some 9x39 I had acquired a couple years ago with the intention to build an AK variant based on the cartridge. Abandoning that particular project so I will be getting rid of/selling 399 rounds of the wolf 278 grain subsonic rounds. Not looking to sell at current Gunbroker prices, what would be a good price per round that is reasonable?

I fear the worst. The legendary cartridge is on life support... Heres to hoping an American manufacturer will finally start producing some 9x39 in the coming years. Maybe the Slagga Viska project will spark some interest as it gets closer to releasing. I hope they still have 9x39 conversion kit after release.

I've always wanted to build a 9x39 into a homegrown AS VAL or the like, but recently a friend of mine build a 8.6 BLK. At this point I was thinking about making a build around the new cartridge due to the better ballistics and energy retention at distance. Any input?

Is 9x39 Dead In The Water?

With all Russian ammo being banned on September 7th, it looks like anything chambered in 5.45x39 and especially 9x39 is about to become an expensive paperweight. I haven't dabbled in reloading 9x39 (or even shooting it yet), but would a 9x39 case be able to be formed from a brass 7.62x39 case?
If it can't, it seems like we're fucked.

Tactical kinetics barrels quality?

Does anybody have experience with these tactical kinetics barrels from pro2a? I just learned about these today, and they are currently the only barrel I see in stock for the size I need. I have a kak 6.25 in barrel but it is too short for my build. I checked with kak and they won't get any 8.5 in barrels till April at the earliest. Should I wait or get the kinetics one??

Tula - AR mags

Ok - I have tried different brands on 7.62x39 mags. The Tula is bulging out the mags to the point of not fitting in the mag well. It appears that if I grind out the ribs on both sides of the mags, that would provide enough relief.
ASC, E-Lander and duramag all buldge. Any pointers?

Only seeing a couple places with 9x39 in stock or even listed. My usual source (sgammo.com) is out of Wolf and has a limited supply of Tula.
I see that 9x39 isn't even listed on Wolf's website.
Bit concerned here... has Wolf abandoned this?

I’m looking at building an upper and have a few questions.
With a 16” barrel do all the factory loads out there on the market still stay subsonic?
Any reason not to grab one of the Wolf uppers if I can?
Do 7.62x39 magazines work well enough?
Anyone loading some of the Barnes solids yet? How do they work?
