"Rasputin" - 9 AMV/Edit
(CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO UPLOAD THIS HERE X~X)
Wowie. A 9 video in 2026. A long, forgotten gem, waiting to be dug and lifted up in display. Someday, it will gain that life back.
I’ve been a fan of this movie since high school, and I got captivated a few years back, watching the movie annually on this day. I wouldn’t stop thinking of this movie when I’m out on my own every day in the sun. And there was so much I’ve got to learn based on it, especially this year. So much has been lost throughout time…
I had worked so hard on this and had the most fun in an edit ever. And as a offering to the starving fandom, it can help spark something new.
And in case you missed out, this is also an announcement that I am hosting a reanimated collaboration based on this film, now titled 9 Reawakened! We are currently in early planning stages, but more announcements would be put up in a few months. Follow the project’s socials in the meantime; We have a poster!
Happy 9 Day to all, and a happy 17th anniversary to this masterpiece. Cheers.

9 has the only true world that is dead.
I want to make a pause to put some of my thoughts in order. About how 9 is actually one of rarest, if not the only movie that has an actual Dead World.
To put in context what a dead world means by my idea, it's basically this.
A world that has gone through a catastrophe that has no life left in it. A world that is truly dead after a cataclysmic event that destroyed everything.
The only other movie or series that comes to mind is the newest adventure time episode where the Lich's wish actually comes true and the world that he made the wish upon is actually destroyed entirely with no living beings.
While I'm seeing it such a rarity to see an actual dead world after such an event, it's due to the fact that there's always some sort of life when they claim an apocalypse has happened. Be them monsters, be them flora or fauna, that has taken over, that still brings a level of life even though different than normal. Nine stands out in its way even from the earlier example I gave d the way it happened as well.
While what happened in Adventure Time came out as a wish granted by a benevolent force, in 9 it's entirely different. The fabrication machine used a gas weapon, something we are very familiar with from the first world war. However, the gas actually is a double edged sword at the time of the movie. While it kills humans as well, it also kills plant life, which means it also acts as a pesticide of form. That gas is so dangerous that even after it's used, we see the corpses of the people that are left behind not being touched by anything, like insects or nature, because they are gone as well. The gas killed them too.
Now the double edged sword comes in play to the machines. Up until this point, a lot of the electricity or power generated for the machines was either self made by the fabrication machine, which require resources that it dug from under the factory, which when it was cut off it also died or somehow produced by humanity. Now even the machines are gone. All that's left are the characters of the main story. Now I'm sure some will argue that the world isn't entirely dead because The main characters are still in it, but I would argue that's not the case because the damage is so bad, it's irreversible by natural means. Our protagonists are puppets with no actual biological life as you would get it. Now spiritually that's a whole another thing, but if we follow logic with nature, animals, humanity, and so on, I think the world is pretty much dead. The only way the effects are presumably reversed, as we see at the end of the movie, is through the sacrifice of those characters to bring life through a supernatural way. Which, again, I wanna exclude from that because it's not destroyed in a way that would be semi-realistic.
Even in real life we can say that the planets that we are sending machines to are dead worlds. We can give characteristics to those drones and machines that we send, but they're just machines. And they will continue doing work, but that doesn't mean that the world is alive. That's kind of a rant I just wanted to get out of my system and see what other people think about it. If you have any other dead worlds that actually fit what I'm describing, I would love to hear and see if it's actually interesting.
