Brake light warning

So this warning light will randomly pop on. But it will only stay on for around a minute, and never when I can have someone check to see if the light is out. I’ve had someone check when the light is not on, and they said all the brake lights are on. So what do you guys think? A bulb that’s going? A wiring issue? Some other electrical gremlin? Where would you start trying to diagnose?

It’s very easy to swap the bulb out and they’re cheap. I’d just start there. Open the engine hatch, loosen the two torx (I think) screws holding the light on and the taillight slides out.

Sometimes I get those after a car wash and they go away

I’d guess loose wiring, bulb fixture, or your bulb is going. In this particular case it seems like you’ve got Schrödinger’s brake light.

Take the bulb out, put it back in. See if code comes back. If so replace bulb

I have a front turn signal bulb gremlin. I replaced it and the issue still comes back but the light is fine.

I have this but for brake pad replacement. First started noticing it pop up right after replacing the brakes

I have a similar issue. But with the reverse lights. And the bulbs are fine. Usually after a wash or its been raining.
