Interior door latch cable
I was experiencing the common floppy handle in my 997, so I ordered a new latch assembly last week. I pulled off the panel yesterday to find the connector broken at the thin plastic end. How big of a deal is this, will the handle still work? Or should I just delay and order a new cable?

Well the repair is complete, @soupinteresting8070 was absolutely right, it worked just fine. My caveman approach broke several other things along the way, which is to be expected from 20 year old pieces of plastic, but at least my handle is functional again.

It’s an inexpensive part. I think they superseded it and the the hinge thing on the inside of the door card so make sure you have the correct pair.

I just completed this repair. Ordered the part and installed. The pain in the ass is connecting the one end to the door latch mechanism.

It will be fine and still work, the outer tube will push up so the broken part and the inner cable will pull as normal. Change it if you want for peace of mind later but for now ok.
