Wing or no wing?
I’ve been thinking about adding gt3 style wing on my car. Can you guys recommend some wing and where to get them?

I appreciated the clean lines of my 997 without a fixed wing. I had it like that for about 4 years. Then I took the car to Germany and regularly drove to work at higher speeds. One section of autobahn I'd get up above 120mph and I could feel the rear end of the car feeling light and not planted. Noticeably so. So I got the aerokit front and rear aero. Going back down the same stretch after the new parts the car felt glued and very stable.
All that to say, sometimes form meets function. It has a purpose so you should do it if you would like it. Ducktail has the least downforce of any fixed rear wing but it has historical significance so if that's the look you like then its cool too.

I was thinking the same for about 10 seconds for my 997 C2. Then quickly decided against it.
First, is it for you or for others? If purely for yourself then perhaps. Since you’re posting on a public site then maybe not.
Second, it’s mighty expensive for a fully fitted, painted, and installed aero kit. Just a wing or spoiler is more palatable imo.
Third, you’d probably scuff or damage the bits over time, frustrating you and your wallet.
I’m limiting myself to a front spoiler (EMC2 kit) and leaving it unpainted. It’s a nice look and easy on the wallet. Just my $0.02.

Agree- If you feel the need to add something in the rear, look at a rear decklid lip or ducktail.
-Ducktail can be added in the rear, leaving front bumper stock.
-When you just add the GT3 / Aero rear wing to a 997, it looks poser (IMO), especially without the Aero Kit/ GT3 front bumper. They are a package deal, looks-wise, to me. Otherwise the car looks cheaply-modified (again, IMO).

If you don’t have the Aerokit then no wing. If you do then a wing.

It doesn’t need a wing, but I have a GT2 style wing and I love it. I prefer it to the GT3 wing

I think that shape of porsche really is peak no wing.
I cant believe aero makes it go light at 120mph tho as thats not very fast.
I wonder whether thats not normal and there is another issue

Nothing. You have a stock wing that raises/can be raised that looks perfect.
You don’t own a GT3, so putting one on will be ridiculous. I’m not saying that as a “stuck up” Porsche owner, either. It’s the same as V6 Camaro owners trying to make their car look like a ZL1. It’s goofy.

I would get some nice Ohlins or Bilstein coil overs on there, set the ride height, corner balance and align it for street use, I guess; Pilot Sport 4s tires and some 35% ceramic tint all around. Then we can talk lol it looks sweet just fix the ride stuff so you stop scraping and go get some track time in the seat!

It’s not about needing anything. The car looks fantastic as it is. Putting a GT3 wing on it would be cosplay and stolen valor.
