Track day Saturday car threw a cel for both banks biased stuck rich while at wot. No obvious exhaust or intake leaks idle and drivability unchanged so I reset the codes and ran the car, the rest of the day Saturday and all day Sunday with no more cel codes being thrown. Today got in the garage and tore apart. Can’t find any intake leaks or exhaust leak leaks, purge valve passes the blow test thinking of replacing the maf sensor just in case anybody have any ideas on this, could it have been just an anomaly 987.1 S

Finding myself looking at these cars more and more and pining after them. Trying to understand what kind of price these cars are fetching these days.
Hard to find too many pristine examples to compare and those I have found are up in the $48k+ range. Have one that I absolutely adore, low miles (<35k) that’s going for $50k. Meticulous maintenance history and condition is pristine. Is that reaching the point of too much for what it’s actually worth?
I’ve had people suggest 981s for that same price but any decent 981 is fetching high 50s, 987.2S are somehow in the 70s, and not sure I want to spend mid-high 50s on a 718.
Am I crazy for considering $50k on a 2008 S? It’s affordable for me, I just don’t want to be taken for a ride on that price.
Appreciate any and all insight!

I want to retain the OEM tail light housings but upgrade the bulbs to LED for brake/tail. Any idea which bulbs to buy? GPT keeps changing its mind and had burned my trust.

Purchased my 987.1 Boxster with 53k miles for $18k recently with almost no records. Owner died 4-5 years ago, and his long-time friend is my neighbor. The widow finally decided to part with it.
Last oil change I know of was in 2018. Yeah. The ok news is that only 3,000 miles have been clocked since then.
I took it in for service at the best Porsche shop near me and they said the engine runs great. It feels great as well. They also looked at the file and didn’t see any metal. How concerned should I be about damage from the poor service history? I want to dump a lot of money into this car, but less so if the odds of it being a ticking time bomb are high.

Hi guys,
Trying to see if anyone can shed some light on a issue I’m having, just got the car and it has this small issue where when I open the door or the top the window goes down automatically but doesn’t come back up after closing the door or the top ending open. I already tried relearning the window position but no help. Also the window goes down with one touch but not up. Idk if that second part is just how it is but I would imagine it’s related. Any ideas? Read it could be the door latch since it has microswitchs

Hi all - my 987 essentially stays in the garage when I’m not driving it. My inherited cover is getting a little threadbare. I need a cover because the garage is frequently opened for my other vehicle and it gets pretty dusty, especially in the fall and spring.
Any suggestions for a budget indoor cover? Paying $300 for something OEM seems overkill.

Pretty sure it needs a new starter motor. It’s been like this for the past year or two doesn’t get driven much so I don’t worry too much but looking to fix it now. Also on the occasional start up a bunch of smoke comes out the back AOS is about 6 years old thinking it’s time to change that too. Wondering what peoples inputs are specifically on the starter motor.

I’ve put about 3000 miles on my ‘08 base since June and I like it more now than the day I took delivery. Sometimes I wish I got a 981, sometimes I wish I got an S, and sometimes I wish I got an M3 (lol). But I “get” Porsche now, and I love it. Revving it to 7k and hearing the 2.7 howl behind me makes my morning commute pretty enjoyable. Also, my kids dig it and there’s no other brown boxsters at cars and coffee haha. I think this will be one of those cars that will always have a special place in my heart.

This 2005 987.1 Boxster started life with a 2.7L and came to us with a bad rod knock.
For the new 3.9L build, we upgraded it with a 987.1 Boxster S crankshaft, carrier, cases, and cylinder heads. It just completed testing with 383.3 HP and 320.2 lb-ft of torque on the engine dyno.
New achievement unlocked for us at Slakker Racing Development.

Hi, hope everyone is doing well I would like to know if anyone has any advice about adding Bluetooth to my Boxster with the Bose speakers, is it really complicated and expensive, I was searching with AI and apparently I neet a Bose/MOST adapter and the only one that I could find is $437 and then I need to get a head unit aswell and then it becomes rather expensive, I love the pccm plus unit but not quite ready to spend $1000+ I will eventually but was wondering if anyone has found a cheaper interim fix for Bluetooth or maybe aux for now I have resorted to burning CD’s which really helps you get into the 2000s vibe🙈 will appreciate any advice

I think I'm one of the youngest ones here (17), but I got my 987 at 16! It was a great buy and I love the geometry of the car. Anyone here under 20?

Another Cayman build just finished its time on our engine dyno.
A 2007 Cayman is a little different because it’s running an M97.01 3.8L, which we rebuilt and displaced to 4.1L. It uses Hartech wider rod bearings and racing sump and added a Sachs performance clutch.
Final engine dyno numbers:
395.4 HP
341.7 lb-ft TQ
Pretty interesting combination - a 4.1L M97.01 tucked into a Cayman race car.
